Perserveranmce was okay...not a "great" album (to me). The Man To Praise and Put It On The Line, was probably my favorite cuts off the album. If i remember correctly i think there was a remix version of the album (re-remixed by Madlib...who did all of the original (released) album.

better albums - 2007 and after (off the top of the head):

Return of the Mac - Prodigy/Alchemist
Graduation - Kanye West
Waitin To Inhale - Devin The Dude
Finding Forever - Common
Prot tools - GZA
Theatre of the Mind - Ludacris
Chemical Warfare - Alchemist
White van Music - Jake One
Reurn of 4eva - Big K.R.I.T.
Apollo Kids - Ghostface
Spell My Name Right - Statik Selektah
Stick 2 The Script - Statik Selektah
Port Autority - Marco Polo
Shaolin vs. Wu Tang - Wu Tang

..theres more that just aint hittin' me right now.

peace.

I don't have Perseverance, it was one of those Stones Throw albums I never got around to getting. Although I do like Percy P, and I know some of his early works are hard to find and usually go for big bucks.

Great list P.

So I just got home and checked and sure enough, I do have this album! old geezer I guess I forgot I even owned it, I'll have to re-listen to it, although if I forgot I owned it, I gotta side with Uptown that it's pretty forgettable.

Now his older sheet on the other hand, I heard a few joints, and I remember em being fire. And if I vaguely remember right, he's got a few good tracks on Perseverance and a few other Stones Throw compilations I have as well.

On a Stones Throw tangent, they don't have very many good Rap albums do they? Except for the Dilla albums and a few Madlib albums, a lot of their Rap albums are kinda weak. Seems like the left field rock and other stuff is their strong suit not straight up Hip Hop albums.

I bought the Percee P album when it dropped, but I don't think I have listened to it more than once. The production on it just didn't work for me.

rchecka you should definitely peep some of their earlier releases, Rasco's "Time Waits For No Man", Loot Pack's "The Antidote" and Charisma & Peanut Butter Wolf's "Big Shots" are all great straight up hip hop albums. In fact nearly all the early singles from Encore, Homeliss Derilex etc etc are excellent.

I have not been feeling so many of their recent releases, I guess Medaphor's "Push Comes to Shove" was the last one I really played a lot (and I just realised that came out back in 2005!). I did enjoy the Dam Funk box set on the non-hip hop tip.
