I got his first album...

and a few singles off that album.

I heard his second wasn't that good. "Wrath of Math"

Frankly, I really liked his first album, and a few of his nice collabs, enough to rate him a "good rapper".

But I don't know enough of his later work to rate him over all, I'd be curious to hear from cats familiar with his later work too. I guess he put out a record in 2007, wonder how that was.

I guess i never slid you a copy of my Jeru - Best of, huh?

I used to see Jeru all the time when i worked in Brooklyn....

'wrath of the math' is a dope (IMO).

'Still Rising' is the 2007 album you're talking about - it's aiight - it had joints like, The Crack, Murdera, History 101, The Prophet (<-----which is another chapter in the saga between ignoration, hated and jealousy), kick rocks

'heroez4hire' is a good album...joints like, 99.9%, Seinfeld (<<<----this instrumental is so ill to me), Renegade Slave, 'billie Jean' , anotha victim

'Divine Design' (2003) is my least favorite Jeru album..although it had a few heat rocks, like, War, Praise The Lord, Rasta Powers. Besides the raps, I love the instrumental of 'War'..i use that to b/w alot of different accapellas...when I do find time to mix some shit up, on the wheels.....

peace.

Jeru..? Me personally, I would say he is pretty significant as an original member of the Gangstarr foundation. Heroes for Hire excluded, he has two classic albums on his first go round. Wrath of the Math showed a progression in songwriting. As far as production goes, I think it's some of Primo's greatest work next to the Livin' Proof album.

Sorry to go off on a tangent, but I was thinking about some of the heritage artists. It's disappointing that artists like Jeru kept out if A&R and corporate positions at labels. Im sure he's seen it all, as well as made rounds with some of the best in the game.
