Izzy Ice And DJ Majesty - Soulman 12" (Scottfree Records) 1988

^This finally arrived after ordering it months ago, it's kind of a pre Da King and I project and it's really, really on point. Nice and laid back.

Great choicethumbs up I got this record as a gift in high school...and in a fit of teen angst I stepped on it...this was actually produced by Howie Tee...those were the days

^Ahh the teen angst years, the good times when your parents and ex's were your only true enemies LOL.
That's really good Howie T production BTW.

Da Beatminerz - Brace for Impact LP (Rawkus) 2001

^Slept on Rawkus HH album IMO, full of dope rhymes great collabs, halfway funny skits, but most importantly dope beats.
I bust this out every so often it really doesn't get old to my ears.

DJ Vadim - U.S.S.R. Repertoire LP (Ninja Tune) 1996

^Early Vadim album, pretty basic beats but still pretty dope in their simplicity. Nowadays he's honed his craft in to much thicker productions with more medleys and styles. Still there's something special about the simple boom bap he laid out on this. There's lots of vinyl noise sampled in this album, like records skipping, pops and hiss, it's really kind of a cool instrumental concept album on one of my favorite off-beat labels Ninja Tune.

DITC - Thick 12" (Tommy Boy Music) 1999 (Promo) and DITC - Thick Remix 12' (Tommy Boy Music) 2000

^The one on the left is the one you want. (Or the picture cover version of the same thing) You want this one cuz it's got the full dirty version (Blast In The Hood Version). A lot of these "Thick" singles don't have the dirty version and if you heard the clean version you'd hate it. You know what I'm talking about, lots of beeper, car alarm, police siren, noises over the swear words instead of re--spitting you hear a bunch of obnoxious gibberish noise, talk about stupid sounding and totally distracting. The remix on the right is ok, nothing that great not really worth seeking but if you want the a capella I suppose that's the one you should get.

Supersonic Sid - Keep Your Booty Clean (Scrub That Butt) 12" (Ichiban Records) Unknown Year (late 80s)

^One of those "cleanliness is godliness" \ "why do people have to stink so much" \ "scrub your ass with soap" themed rap songs from the 80s. I don't understand why this has to be a reoccurring theme. It seems like such a strange thing to rap about. I can understand this for maybe 5th grade health class kids. But for adults, really? There are really a lot of "You stink" "Clean your booty" rap records in the early and late 80s and these are the kind of novelty records that everyone claimed would be the reason Rap was just a fad. Thankfully rap long outlived the doubters, but also thankfully stank-ass rap died (for the most part) in the late 80s.

Super Sonic Sid - Listen Up 12" (MLT Records) 1988

^This guy is the same Sid, but it's way better than his ass rap. It's kind of a strange one-off random rap record, I have no idea how I found this. It's not on discogs but I guess one guy sold one of these for $56 as per popsike. I think I paid under 10 bones for my copy, it's cool but it's no where near 50 dollars cool. I suppose, if you slap the word "Random Rap" on an Ebay auction and if it's not on discogs some rich dude is gonna pay a lot just to find out if it's good or not. Well if you see it, save your money, don't pay more then 15, it's maybe 15 dollars good on a good day.
