Versis & Bagir-Ba - Barista EP 7" (The Down Beat) 2013



^Took a chance on a 7" Hip Hop single from Fat Beats since I was ordering an LP anyway, and it payed off nicely. This laid back duo reminds me of a modern day Digable Planets in terms of the jazzy vibes and lazy flow rhymes they drop. A perfect 7" for the next relaxed Hip Hop mix.

Emixshow V.19 Magazine and LP (Emixshow) 2002



^Fantastic. Honestly, there isn't anything overly special about the tracks on the LP included in this now defunct "old" Hip Hop magazine Emixshow. The tracks are basically a "best of" of older RUN DMC tracks which feature the late great Jam Master Jay, all of which are easy to find on wax. It's all about the magazine itself which is a real snapshot in Hip Hop time. Besides a fantastic article and time line on RUN DMC this full colored thick bound magazine is loaded with blast from the past imagery and ads of forgotten 2002 Hip Hop singles and albums. I reread this article about JMJ twice yesterday, it was absolutely well worth getting this to refresh my memory on the man behind the music.

I've been so disgusted...every wanna be dope boy and toddler in my hood is reciting Drake's "Started from the bottom" no offense but uggghhhh all of his songs sound the same like one ongoing record...anyway in order to get my mind right I had to pull out some "in case of emergency music" so it's been a UGK kinda day...my two favs Ridin Dirty
