^^I still dig that Cool Kids album. It has its moments. "88" is one of my favorite tracks from that year. Can't remember the title but the opening track was pretty good too, it had the entire beat made from the words "base", "tick" and "clap". Genius. It's not a solid album all the way throught though, I'll give you that.

Haven't been playing much hip hop the past few days so I'll leave you with the short review above.

Yeah, the opener I'll give you that, that's the best track by far. It does have a few more good ones but I agree it's only a few stormers.

DJ Sushi - The Lost Dub Plates EP (Hip Hop Slam) 2000

^Ever buy something because you see a name on it and you buy everything from that artist? Yeah, don't do that without researching it first. I just threw away money on this piece of shit turntablism composition album because it said DJ Krush on it. If I would have read it better, I'd see it says Introduction by DJ Krush. And if I woulda thought about it that can be as simple as DJ Krush saying... "Yo, this is DJ Krush and you are listening to DJ Sushi! PEACE!" in the beginning of the song with his name. And whadya know that's the case, it's a name drop on an otherwise boring as hell guy basically doing nothing more than getting belligerent on his cuts. I am so past turntablists like this who think that they can drop an EP or LP of them simply cutting and scratching over a Hip Hop beat, that shit is so played out and boring as hell. You gotta have a great ear to be able to do that without boring your listeners and this guy doesn't even come close to having an ear for what sounds good. It's all about his super speed scratches which just pisses of everyone after about 2 minutes of it. It's this guys only EP, so I guess he woke up eventually and got a real job.

Funkdoobiest - The Funkiest 12" (Epic) 1993

^Classic. Had to cop this for the top notch remix. Nice and cheap and dope enough for any tape.

Raw Produce - The Weight of the World 12" (Insomnia Records) 1996

^Another dope Raw Produce 12", I shoulda been down with Cadence's works when he was still alive, but I guess better late than never.

Various - Red Label Boot 12" (White Label) (Unknown Year)

^I got a few of these various color boots from Metrowax years ago. Each has nice freestyle versions of various now classic MC cuts. But these are slightly different which makes you do a triple take when you hear a different verse. Really cool and impossible to learn about where they are from. MC Ren, Gangstarr, and the College Boys reside on this one.

Various - Blue Label Boot 12" (White Label) (Unknown Year)

^This one has Chubster and Redman and some rare Wu Tang posse cuts on the flip. So dope, and so obscure.

Mannish - Tasha's Room 12" (Correct) 1996

^ Top of the Chitown clique IMO, this guys beats and rhymes are as dope as it gets. Kind of like a 93 sound in 96, which is a good thing. Banging boom bap beats.

J-Rocc - Conception Presents Walkman Rotation LP (Conception Records) 1998

^Nice, sealed!!! Conceptions Records unmixed 2LP comp compiled by J-Rocc of the Beat Junkies. I got the CD version which is mixed, and I'll never be able to juggle like J-Rocc, but now I can at least try! Many of these tracks are so dope and hard to track down on individual 12" singles so this was a really good bang for the buck.

Nick Wiz - Cellar Selections Volume 3 LP (GRR\No Sleep Records) 2013

Landed last night from Debonair P's GRR in the UK. Dope. Nick Wiz remixes cerca 93-98 of a bunch of underground Hip Hop artists. I never even heard of most of these dudes. But the whole thing is solid. Pudgee, and Rakim (oddly enough) grace the same record. Imagine 1993 boom bap beats on a bunch of slept on underground rappers = this. Limited to 300, sold out at GRR.

Found one on Ebay, dude wants a 100 bucks though, damn!
