Guru - Jazzmatazz lp . Copped this recent repress as I can't seem to come across an affordable OG pressing . This is the perfect meeting of hip hop and jazz . Guru with that mono tone voice as laid back as ever with top notch jazz players . Beautiful music to my ears .. RIP Guru !!

Atmosphere - Fishing Blues 3lp . I never really noticed Atmosphere getting much love around this way , but I have been a fan through their entire career . Although admittedly was not overly impressed with their last 2 releases , I feel like they have redeemed themselves in my eyes . I think that you either love or hate Atmosphere . There is a track or two on here that may or may not grow on me , but overall a pretty solid release .

Who else but Aesop Rock could get away with making a hip hop track about his cat ??? I gotta cop his new one The Impossible Kid . It's the only album I don't own in some sort of format ( with the exception of the Uncluded album which I need to cop too ) .

Recently bumped this ..

J Dilla - The Diary Of ... Lp . There was a lot of hype around this album , so I copped it on RSD . I just now gave it a listen . Don't get me wrong , Dilla deserves his props , but this album is kinda wack . I've heard Dilla rhyme before and it's mediocre at best . All he talks about is bitches in his truck . It gets boring . Most of the beats on this album sound like throw away beats too . The entire first side of this album was hard to listen to . I do have to admit that the last half of the second side is dope . More boom bap beats and better lyrical content , but it hardly makes up for the first side . R.I.P. Dilla and I'm sure if you wanted these joints to see the light of day they would have before you left us . I'm curious if anybody else has a different opinion on this album .
