Been bumpin my recent score from bandcamp , and I feel like I'm on a roll lately copping dope hip hop . I've been in a slump for a while ( with the exception of a few choice buys recently ) . I hope I'm seeing my way out with these recent purchases ...

J-Zone - Funky / Go Back To Sellin' Weed 45 . J-Zone meant funky when he named this track . The drums he played on this track are damn near as funk as any well known funk album from the 70s , but still kinda blunted sound . Go Back To Sellin' weed is a shot at cd-r sellin wack rappers . It's a dope general diss track , but will make your head nod .

Nickodemus - New York Minute / Gimme The Music 45 . Dope hip hop tracks over Afro funk beats and they ride well too . New York Minute features The Real Live Show , Rabbi Darkside , Illspokinn , and Sadat X . Gimme The Music features The Real Live Show .

Couldn't find a video of the version of NYM that's on this 45, just the remixes you get digitally...

People Under The Stairs - The Cat / Live At The Fishbucket pt. 2 / Chris Says "Nice One" Bonus Beat 12"

People Under The Stairs - Youth Explosion / Big Daddy Brown / Code Check 12"
Picked both of these 12s up in a 2 pack reissue deal . I already have the Cat 12 , so that one stays sealed for now , but I needed the Youth Explosion joint for a long time . I really wish I had copped their OM releases back in the day . Hindsight is a mofo !!

Dephlow - Deph Threats lp. I've been looking at releases produced by Phoniks ( I ran across him on bandcamp too ) , and found this album . The production is tight and Dephlow has an old hip hop soul with a new hip hop mind . He's not trying to imitate past rappers , but keeps that spirit alive in a fresh way .

Awon - Matte Black Soul lp. Another album produced by Phoniks . This album also has the soul of any dope 90s hip hop joint in both the production and rhymes . Awon has a smooth laid back flow with plenty of intelligent rhymes to match . This album also comes with a second lp that is the complete album remixed . The remix album is as good as the original release , but different enough to stand alone . The beats are a little more gritty on the remix album .

And last but not least

Gas-Lab & Traum Diggs - Jazz Hop lp. This is definitely a kick back and chill out hip hop album . Dope jazzy beats accompanied with a smooth laid back flow . This would be a great put in the headphones and walk around the city album . Or just an easy to listen unwind album . I really dig the super jazz feel of the beats , not so chopped up that you don't really get that jazz track feel .

^I liked all that. Just played all those vids. Although it looks like someone pulled the plug on the last one at Youtube.

You definitely have been on a roll lately. Hooked me up with that Jazz Hop joint and it sounds exactly as you described. Nice and laid back.

You been digging deep into the bandcamp archives lately JB, nice work! This ones on me.

New Testament- The DayAfter ep . SIX2SIX records has release this 7 track 12" of previously unreleased material from the mid 90s . Originally recorded between 94 - 96. Raw and gritty 90s style . Any hip hop head would feel this . No frills with the packaging here. Album comes in a generic white sleeve . It is pressed up on a nice marble blue vinyl . But black vinyl would've been fine with me.

I'm gonna have to check out more of their releases ..
