I have a hard time deciding if I like that one or Illadelph Halflife the best . I'm still a fan of the a Roots but I definitely prefer their earlier work .

Haven't kept up with the later albums, though I should probably go back and check them out at some point. Illadelph is special to me because I bought it when it came out and it got me into them. Organix is probably their best overall album for me. They did more sophisticated stuff later but it's hard to top the energy on that one.

Dunno how their deals are structured or how well their artists make out, but even bigger name indie acts make a lot less than you'd expect after everything is taken before they get paid.

@ LionsMouth , Organix is amazing . The roots have definitely gone in many directions . I've managed to enjoy it all so far with the exception of one album (Rising Down ) . Just couldn't get into it . I've also only heard a few tracks off of the last album they put out .
I recently picked this up..

FloFilz - Cenario lp. Super dope , laid back , jazzy hip hop instrumentals . This is a great get your head right and chill to album . This cat is from Germany and as far as I know has one more album out ( could be wrong ) . Either way , now I know to keep my eye out for more of his music ...

Haven't played this in a long time and decided to dig it out recently. This was Blame One's fourth album overall, IIRC it was supposed to be his last but he ended up coming out of retirement for another album a few years after this. Despite the appearance of some high profile guests and producers (Black Milk, Blu, Exile, Sean Price, Oh No, Aloe Blacc, etc.) this album didn't really get the attention it deserved at the time IMHO. It was reviewed well on a couple underground hip hop sites though, which is how I came across it. Well worth picking it up if you can find it, just solid independent hip hop.
