Can't really review it right now, but I'm a huge fan and I'm downright giddy to hear this.

I'm about to drop the needle, right about...

...Now.

Let us know how it is. I don't know his discography too well, I've only got his first two albums on CD, which I like a lot.

So I'm a big fan, I have every album. Over the years I've almost bought everything he dropped on CD, LP and even his 4 DVD set of videos and performances. I even have his Japanese exclusive CDs that cost an arm and a leg to ship over here, so I think it's safe to say I'm a huge fan.

His last album Jaku was dropped 11 years ago so I've had time to anticipate this one. Maybe that anticipation is what made it a bigger disappointment than it actually is.

I'd say it's a 3.5 out of 5. Not bad, not a grand slam. He really hasn't lost a step, his productions are still ominous and moody with a slow distinct churning drum pattern that sets him apart from everyone making Hip Hop beats. He still has the rich warm textures blending perfectly with the cold Hip Hop beats. And he still has his "any style" guests you can imagine on every other track giving you that "journey" feeling while listening.

That's a lot of "stills" though. Still doing this and that and the other, I guess I kind of expected after 11 years a few new tricks up his sleeve. Still, that is his sound, and he's still doing his thing and overall it works great. Track for track this is a very solid album and I'll enjoy listening to it again tonight with a fresh set of ears. But it's not his best album as I was hoping it would be. Maybe that's my fault for wanting the moon. That said, I'd still highly recommend this to any DJ Krush fans, this is not a release you want to miss.

BTW, this was pressed on VinDig which is Vinyl Digital. As you already know LM, they have a bad reputation for pressing up some shitty sounding records, mostly due to their sources being bad and or downright shady, but when they have the right masters as apparently they did with this, they make a fine product. 2 fat records, in nice anti-static sleeves and the audio quality is outstanding. I have no complaints about the audio on the record.

@Rchecka, I know the feeling you are describing when you have been following a particular artist for years. Sometimes I find that if I am disappointed with a new release, I can put it away, and come back months later and appreciate it a bit more. Re: Vinyl Digital, I had no idea they had any legit releases whatsoever. I only knew about them because of all the posts from the Reddit kids that want LP bootlegs of very popular/mainstream stuff because they "have to have it on vinyl". As a general rule, I avoid buying bootlegs altogether these days. Whereas BITD you might have gotten one made from a low-gen source or even a soundboard tape or something, nowadays they is a rampant influx of boots made from nothing more than mp3s that circulate on blogs or P2P servers. I'm not going to shell out for that kind of stuff.

^I think Vinyl Digital will take the money for pressing records regardless of where the money comes from. They are also a huge online store so they could just be a store but they press records too.

But yeah this one was officially licensed by Sony for exclusive distribution to vinyl digital and this proves that they can create a quality product if the money is there and the masters are right.

Regarding the album, I agree, I'm sure I'll warm up to it again soon. Like I said it's not bad at all, it's just not groundbreaking and that's probably an unfair expectation on my part.
