Friends and fam...

Is there any interest in a little birthday acknowledgement here?

Out of respect for privacy, no year of birth will be named, only the date.embarassed old geezer

Anyone can opt out of this of course, but it's always nice to drop a lil love for the long time heads in the place.

Thoughts? Freddie

PS - Who's dressing up as Big Bird for Halloween? WACKA WACKA!

K I've uploaded and enabled the module "Birthdays"

Here's how it works...

To respect everyone's privacy and still be able to participate, you can only see Birthdays in The Control Center.

(BTW The control center is also where you can see who's logged in, other user stats and how many lurchers are online.)

You can only see the control panel as a user who is logged in. So in other words, your birthdays will not be made available to anyone other than true logged in members and only if they are inclined to click on Control Center.

How to participate:

To get your birthday to show up you have to edit your profile to include your birthday.
1. Click on Control Center.
2. Click on Edit My Profile.

3. ^ALL FIELDS REQUIRED: Put in your first name, (it doesn't matter what you type under name, you can type big bird, WACKA WACKA! it will not show up, only your user name shows up)

4. Put in your REAL birthday, Day, Month and *Year. (*You can lie about the year, but it doesn't matter either way no one knows your age if you keep the box "Show Age?" unchecked.) The year of your birth is not visible to anyone if you keep that box unchecked even administrators can't see it. Obviously don't lie about your day and month though, that makes this whole thing pointless.

5. IMPORTANT: You must fill in Name, Day, Month, and Year or it will not update your profile and work for you.

RECOMMENDED: In this day and age I would highly recommend you keep Show age unchecked. No one needs to know how old your geezer stankin ass is anyways old geezer not to mention that's valuable personal information not recommended to be shared online in any case. If you wanna tell us how old you are though, then go for it, but I wouldn't do it.

Birthday Threads:

If you wanna start a happy birthday thread, you are encouraged, but please do so in this General Forum as that way only logged on members are entitled to that information. After all, we are a close-knit little crew, why should we advertise otherwise? And friends and fam are the only ones that would appreciate those threads any way. No lurchers need to know when our birthdays are that way, right?

NOTE: Please don't feel obligated to participate if you don't want to, keep all fields blank if you choose to keep that private. However, If you do want to participate, and we encourage this kind of camaraderie, you have to edit your profile as described above for your name to appear in the birthdays section at the bottom of the control panel.

Thanks!

double thumbs up
