No intro or guidelines necessary, just go to town.

I love this guy cuz he's gotta be one of the kings of funky blues. I love his BB Kingish way of bending his notes and how he embraced the Disco era without selling out. I also love his nasally singing voice, very unique funky sound coming out his vocal chords.

No doubt Jay Brown, Superman Lover in particular has gotta be his big tune, so many producers sampled it and it is such a good song in it's own right.

I'll start with my JGW 45s...

Johnny Guitar Watson - Gangster of Love 7" (DJM Records) 1976

^Another funky blues classic. The flip is ayite too.

Johnny Guitar Watson - Love That Will Not Die 7" (DJM Records) 1977

^This is my favorite disco joint by him. The funky bluesman does funky disco and doesn't miss a step.

Johnny Guitar Watson - Like I'm Not Your Man 7" (Fantasy Records) 1976

^Only JGW can make the fear of getting cheated on sound funky on the A side...

Johnny Guitar Watson - I Don't Want To Be A Lone Ranger 7" (Fantasy Records) 1976

^Not a fan of this A side, but the B side ( You Can Stay But The Noise Must Go ) where he's bitching about not being able to practice in his fresh new non ghetto apartment without the landlord getting all up in his grill is pretty cool.
