^^agreed !! Nice mod funk/soul score Rchecka !!
I played a few 7s last night..

The Shangri-las - I can never go home anymore / bull dog 7". I've always liked this band . Something about that bleak , depressed attitude they had about things that made them stand out from a lot of the bands of the time .

The flip side is more similar to the sound of the time

Mr. Gnome - Deliver This Creature / Night Of The Crickets 7". I'm not truly familiar with this artrock duo . My brother -in-law bought this and didn't care for it . So he passed it on to me . I had heard a song or two by them that wasn't bad about 5 years ago , but never really paid them any mind . Although this is out of my realm , I'm kinda diggin this 7 .

Holy Cow! Mr. Gnome!

I saw them play in Dallas about a year and a half ago. I didn't know who they were and just wanted to check out a show while i was there for a couple of days. I saw a flyer for them at Club Dada and just went for the hell of it. They were a lot of fun to see live, with a diverse bunch of sounds from a duo. Not boring or repetitive like some. Never heard that 7" before, but I'm definitely going to have to hunt down a copy.

^^ I will definitely be looking for more of their stuff now . I almost saw them live about five years ago . Was gonna go with a friend to see them , but had more pressing things to do when the show came around .

This morning...

Wild Sugar - Messin' Around / Bring It Here 7" . After hearing Rchecka's 80's mix , I knew I needed this 7 with the Beastie Boys / NWA samples on Bring It Here . Samples aside , it's still a great listen and Messin' Around is good too .

William Devaughn - Blood Is Thicker Than Water parts 1&2 7" . I admittedly on knew one song by Willian Devaughn before this which was the amazing Be Thankful For What You Got . These tracks have the same feel to them . I picked this up on a whim and don't regret it .

Awesome stuff JB, particularly that Be William DeVaughn. You gotta also get the "Be thankful for what you got" 7" since it has part 2 of that song which is INCREDIBLY funky and soulful.
