Choosing Death - The Improbable History of Death Metal & Grindcore
Albert Mudrian - published by Feral House. 2004

Beginning with the rise of Napalm Death from the remains of the British hardcore scene, this book traces extreme metal through a variety of scenes. The author interviewed band members, sound engineers, producers, label executives, and fans to get a comprehensive overview of how this wild music rose to such prominence.

If you're looking for a bit of history on extreme metal and how it has evolved, this book is an excellent place to start.

Black Sabbath Heaven & Hell Tour Program
1980

I found this digging through some boxes of stuff from back in my high school days. I picked this up at a Sabbath show in September of 1980 in Lakeland , FL. Riot was the opening band.

I'll Sleep When I'm Dead: The Dirty Life And Times Of Warren Zevon
Crystal Zevon - published by Ecco / Harper Collins, 2007

An excellent oral biography of the late, great Warren Zevon. There are stories from dozens of people from his personal and professional life presented here. This book is a "warts and all" look at one of the great songwriters of the rock and roll era. Reading this left me with a much deeper understanding of what drove him to write and record some of the all-time great outsider anthems.
