Fripp & Eno - No Pussyfooting LP (Editions EG) 1979

Agree that this is one of Eno's easiest ambient works to get into, as well as one of his best. I prefer the Evening Star Fripp/Eno collab slightly, but would probably suggest this one as a better starting point for anyone just getting into this stuff.

The Circular Ruins - Pathways 2xCD

This is a massive double album with lots of depth and variety. There are some subtle rhythms at certain points that I really enjoy, as well as ambient drift, gliding keyboard melodies, quiet drones, sudden swells of sound, and even some factory-esque industrial moments here and there. It's a lot to take in but manages to be engaging throughout.

From the artist:

"This collection of pieces was conceived around a constant theme, maybe an obsession, of mine: traveling as though in a labyrinth. Pathways that have no certain destination but lead you into fascinating new vistas and obscure destinies, bringing something new at each turn. And yet those new turns are somehow familiar, as though you were walking in circles. This is not a work of dark electronica for a lost age, it is a work of exploration and light that reveals layers and details of unseen landscapes and curious experiences, that feel like memories, by taking you down pathways you may have missed in your life. The pieces drift between joy, contentment, and the mystery and sadness that being human entails. Enjoy.” APK

FYI two recent Steve Roach albums are "name your price" on Bandcamp right now. Probably won't be for long, so grab them now and pay a few bucks if you can.

Anyone unfamiliar with his work should check thesse out:

Man, I just love Steve Roach so much. That dude puts out so much quality stuff, it's unreal. He was one of the first non-European synth musicians I really got in to.

I only started really getting into him over the last two years. I probably have over 30 albums at this point and still feel like I've only scratched the surface of his massive discography.

He has another release out today, also name your price for a limited time. I think this was put together to commemorate his birthday.
