Yen Pox - Between the Horizon and the Abyss

2015 dark ambient/ambient industrial album from this long running act. I never thought these guys were the most original group in the world, as they borrowed elements from a whole host of 80s pioneers, however, they are so good at what they do, it doesn't matter. This is probably the group's most diverse sounding album yet as well. If you like this kind of thing, definitely check this album out.

Asmus Tietchens - Nachtstucke LP

Wasn't sure where to put this, put I think it can go here for now.

Tietchens' first proper LP from 1980, just before his series of instrumental electropop records on Sky. If you like the more electronic side of Krautrock and old 70s/early 80s German synth stuff, check this out. Honestly I think he reached his peak in the 90s with more electro-acoustic sounding stuff, but I like these earlier, more accessible records by him as well. Some tracks have an odd, carnival-esque feel to them and it's somewhat disjointed compared to his next few LPs, but still quite good.

Jon Hassell/Brian Eno - Fourth World Vol. 1 - Possible Musics LP

Great ambient music with some rhythmic elements here and there. Almost tribal but not quite, way better than a lot of the new-agey percussive ambient stuff that came several years later. This is the reissue on Glitterbeat. It both looks and sounds great, high quality German vinyl. The LP also came with a bonus CD version which is nice to have.

This is great, no vinyl at the mo though I'm afraid:

"London. 1968. Two pioneering electronic musicians discover a set of unusual recordings which leads to a revelation about their employer. Fascinated by the seemingly occult nature of the tapes they conduct a ritual that will alter their lives forever.

The Delaware Road is a psychological thriller & an audio-visual treat for fans of archived electronica, far out jazz & haunted folk grooves.

Loosely based on the lives of influential, electronic musicians Delia Derbyshire & John Baker the story chronicles an obsession with sound, sex & occultism, exploring the highs & lows of the lead characters brilliant but troubled careers.

With a story written by Alan Gubby (producer of “John Baker: The Vendetta Tapes” & ‘The John Baker Tapes’) the album features 19 tracks from leading artists within the British electronic, tape, spoken word, jazz, folk & prog world."
