Toxic Reasons - Independence LP

Ohio hardcore punk circa 1982. Instead of the blazing speed most bands were focusing on around this time, this sounds more like early D.O.A. and LP-era Negative Approach. Maybe a touch of U.K. '82 or even the Ruts in there as well. Midtempo punk rock with great gravelly vocals , though they do pick up the speed a bit sometimes. This album has been pressed a bunch of times, so should be very easy to find. Mind is a later reissue on Beer City that I think I paid around $10 for.

Varaus - Requiem CD

Basically a discography CD here. This is early 80s Finnish hardcore punk, though for whatever reason this band doesn't get talked about as much as some others from the same time period. Not much to say here other than if you like raw hardcore, get this on whatever format you can. This CD (from 1996), along with the last vinyl reissue of this material (from 2010) are both out of print and now sell for ridiculous prices (though not as much as original copies of their 12'' and 7''). Someone really ought to do a reissue.
