Buzzcocks - Another Music in a Different Kitchen LP

So this is the only RSD Black Friday releases I allowed myself to buy today. That doesn't mean I won't get a few other several months down the line at a discount, which is what I usually do with RSD-related stuff because I don't care about the stupid feeding frenzy that always occurs with this stuff.

This particular pressing is done on orange translucent vinyl and pressed at MPO in France. The packaging is a bit spare, no liner notes or info on who mastered it. The pressing itself appears to be well done. I did get one loud pop on a song, but that was probably because I didn't bother to wet clean it before playing and the inner sleeve is one of those stupid cardboard things that always sheds paper debris. Anyway, the mastering is nice and clear but cut loud, just like the Sex Pistols reissue I posted recently.

Worth picking up I guess if you don't already own this on vinyl, especially considering the prices old pressings of Buzzcocks stuff tends to go for these days. Hopefully the rest of their albums will all get reissued along with this as normal releases and not RSD only editions.

As a side note, the labels and the sleeve say Parlaphone, but this LP was done under the auspices of Warner/Rhino. Apparently going forward Warner/Rhino will be doing more reissues of UK stuff under the Parlaphone imprint in the future.

^Awesome. I came here to post this record and review it.

You beat me to the punch, so now I don't have to.

I think that's true if not understated, I think it sounds fantastic. It definitely sounds better than the David Bowie Earthling RSD I picked up yesterday which is also a nice thoughtful reissue. thumbs up

@Rchecka, what was wrong with the Bowie album? I don't have much of Bowie's later work. Need to get Outside and Earthling as well as a couple others at some point.

Not a bad pressing at all I just thought it wasn't as nice as this Buzzcocks. Bowie sounds good this sounds great.

People who complain about RSD releases usually complain about what albums were issued and usually not about the quality of pressing. From my experience even an average RSD pressing is pretty great in comparison to today's normal reissues.

Welcome to 1984 - Maximum Rock 'n Roll Compilation LP

Semi-legendary comp. focusing primarily on non-U.S. hardcore bands. Very few duds in the bunch. I think was reissued on both LP and CD in the last couple of years. Mine is an old 80s pressing that was somehow in mint shape when I found it in a used record shop. I think there were at least three or four older pressings, so if you want an old copy they are out there. Out of the bands on this comp, I've got albums by maybe half of them at best, but many of the others I have nothing by. A nice comp. if you like old hardcore.
