Been meaning to check out this group for awhile, just never got around to it. I recall they had a triple album a few years ago that got a ton of good reviews. This definitely sounds a bit different than what I would've expected from them. Some of that reminds me of some of the stuff Thomas Brinkmann did several years ago or slowed down Confield-era Autechre.

Bad Sector - Kosmodrom

Wasn't sure where to put this but I'm putting here. Bad Sector is the long running project of Massimo Magrini, and most of his recordings that I have heard I would classify under the umbrella of experimental ambient, though he has close ties to the industrial/post-industrial scene. This album (originally released in 2005) is a bit more rhythmic than his usual fare and was composed with samples from Russian space missions and Russian synthesizers. Personally, I think this is some of his best work, and also among his most accessible.

Xingu Hill - Alterity

Xingu Hill were one of those projects that were nominally doing the same types of things you'd find on the Warp label during the mid-90s but never found a broad audience like that stuff did, probably due to label associations and such. Like Black Lung (who released stuff onthe same labels and did a collab album with XH), Xingu Hill found more of an audience in the industrial/post-industrial scene. This is a very nice album, very overlooked IMHO. Check out the videos, the first track takes a minute to kick in.

I agree this should have gotten much more attention. I picked up their first two albums as blind buys back around late '96 or early '97 and was pretty blown away by them. I don't have this one, but it sounds like a keeper.

It's well worth getting, a bit more advanced than the earlier albums, which I need to get eventually.
