Show off or recommend some physical releases only (Sure it can be on Netflix too, but assuming there's a physical copy out there as well is the point.)

As long as it's Music Related post some of your best documentaries or performances or whatever here.

Tori Amos - Welcome To Sunny Florida
Epic Music Video, 2004

Recorded at a great show in West Palm Beach on September 4, 2003 when she was touring in support of the Scarlet's Walk album. The title is a reference to the massive thunderstorm that dumped rain on everyone waiting at the venue that afternoon and early evening. Being a Florida native, that's just par for the course at that time of the year to me, but visitors may find it odd that the Sunshine State has so much rain on a regular basis.

Anyway, I had the pleasure of being at this show, so this DVD/CD set is kind of like a neat souvenir for me. Amos and her band were superb on this night. The acoustics at this amphitheatre are excellent, and the right sound crew can just fill up the night with music if they're skilled. The folks doing Amos's sound on this night certainly fit the bill. The gorgeous washes of echo and rich, full lower end that you'll hear on this DVD match what actually happened there.

There were five songs that were performed that night dropped from the DVD here, I would guess for reasons related to time and not wanting to stretch the set out to a second disc. Also, in a rather unusual move for such a staunch anti-censorship advocate like Amos, the version of Professional Widow included has two words cut out. Amos later said this was because she didn't want the "Parental Advisory" sticker on the front of the set.

There is a bonus CD included with six non-LP tracks that were recorded during the sessions for Scarlet's Walk, and they are well worth hearing.

I'll include a link to the show below, but it's worth picking up the DVD if you're a fan for the stellar 5.1 mix and to see it on a larger screen.

That sounds interesting for sure. I like her music, just not familiar with her albums after the first two or three. Never caught her live either, though I'd like to at some point.

Borbetomagus - A Pollock Of Sound
MVD Visual, 2017

This is a new documentary that looks back over the 38 years and counting of Borbetmagus' career. There's a ton of live performances throughout, overlayed with interviews of the band members and some of the people they have collaborated with over the years such as Thurston Moore and Jojo Hiroshige.

The documentary itself clocks in at roughly 63 minutes. As a bonus feature there is a full set performance from 2009 included that's approximately 45 minutes or so. Both the film and the live set are playable in standard stereo and 5.1 surround.

If you're not already a fan of Borbetomagus or experimental music in general, this film isn't likely to change that. If you are a fan, you'll find it to be an excellent retrospective of where these guys came from. Either way, you definitely won't be bored.

That looks interesting for sure. I like that they included the bonus live show. More documentary films should do that.
