Duke Pearson - the Phantom





So here is something I only heard for the first time early today, and I definitely want. Pearson was the house arranger for Blue Note, but his solo music doesn't seem to be that popular today because most of his albums are OOP. This one is really good. It has some Latin and Brazilian influences and some cool drumming/percussion stuff going on.

Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool CD



Listening to this right now, maybe the third or fourth time, and I'm finally starting to appreciate it. I don't think this is their best work or anything, but worth checking out if you like the band. I opted for the CD on this one after reading so many stories about defective pressings. There are at least four different pressings of the LP floating around, pressed at two different plants and there have been reports of defects in every batch, even the Optimal pressed copies. Knowing how picky I am about this stuff I decided to avoid the headaches and just grab the CD for 1/3 of the price.
