Last night

Thelonious Monk - The London Collection vol.3 lp . Black Lion Records RSD 2016 release . This is one of those record that the music helps set in a happy mood for me . I actually copped this on RSD 2016 , and somehow forgot about it . The baby ( toddler now ) was very young then and got most of my attention , so it doesn't surprise me that this slipped through the cracks . Definitely a great listen . I have thoroughly enjoyed every Black Lion Records album I've bought so far .

Band Of Horses - Cease To Begin lp . This is one I didn't care for at first . I honestly didn't want to give it a chance at all , but my wife would pull up song from this album at night and it would calm the baby and help her get to sleep . After hearing these songs night after night , they started to stick with me to the point I had to buy the album . I usually overlook this type of album as it's not reall my style , but now I find myself wanting to play it to wind down . Imagine that , both me and my daughter are tamed by the same album ...

This is a mellow guitar jazz album, perfect for late night or early morning listening. I'd been meaning to check out Chuck Wayne's solo work since I heard him on Tony Bennett's Cloud 7 album a couple years ago, so I picked this up.

Last night...

Various Artists - Puppet Jazz lp . Super dope , mega funky compilation of German 60s and 70s instrumentals . Funky , soulful , nice breaks , and lots of sampleable moments . What else can you ask for in a compilation ??? Plus the cover art is dope too !!!
