A recent cheap digging pick up. This group were a British indie rock band around during the 80s, signed to Rough Trade over there and Columbia here in the U.S. I love this band's first album and early singles but this sophmore album is a bit of a curveball. From what I've read the critics didn't like it too much either at the time due to the shift in direction from the first LP. Whereas the early singles and first LP were energetic, jangly-guitar-driven music with danceable basslines and drum work, this album adds a lot more experimentation and electronic elements. Not all of it works, but it's a much better album than some might have you believe. If you've never heard this band, definitely get "Giant" first but don't ignore this one after that.
