Centro-matic - Fort Recovery 2006 - Misra I'm not quite sure if this should go here, but it's probably the closest fit. These guys are from Denton Texas and they sound like it. I suppose they would fall into the "alt country category" I first came across them back in 2003 when I used to swing by a local store every payday and hit up the 5 for $20.00 used cd deal they alwaby Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteLionsMouth ^Some heavy electro funk drums on that first track! For real right?! 1st track on the lp too. Comin out strong.by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Trinere- Trinere lp 1986 So I'm not an expert in freestyle by any means but growing up in south Florida during the 80's, freestyle was very much a part of my life as a kid listening to the radio. Power 96 to be exact. DJ Laz would do these sets at night and they were the shit. Anyway, I thought I'd throw this on this morning. I was instantly brought back to that one summer 198_ .by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
There are so many good videos on YouTube that may not be seen. Fix that here. I'll start with a very simple one. Kelly Jones from The Stereophonics: Maybe Tomorrow (acoustic) Love these guys. Great live if you ever have the chance.by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Streaming is a bit of a double edged sword for me. I on occasion have a long commute, so that's initially why I stared using Spotify. Now I feel like it's stepped on my ability to enjoy "albums" anymore because it really has not helped out with my already raging case of ADD. Sucks, skip, sucks, skip...Anyway, the plus side are days like today when new releases are out. I'by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Quotewhyaduck QuoteLionsMouthWhyaduck's post on Superdrag That was Boombat who posted Superdrag Ha, totally cool. Thx for adding all these topics LionsMouth. Look forward to diving in. I just hope some of the lurkers will jump in too.by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Quotewhyaduck Haven't heard Sucked Out in forever - solid - thanks!. Superdrag is streaming friendly for those with Spotify - looks like most of their discography's up.by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteLionsMouth ^I very vaguely recall that band but don't remember them too well. Will have to check the clip a bit later. Most might remember the one big college radio hit they had in 1996 called sucked out. Great track. But still so much better than that imo. Check out regretfully yours, head trip in every key and my fav last call for vitriol. (Sadly never released on vinyl) Feelby Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Superdrag- In the valley of dying stars I am a big BIG Superdrag fan. I'm not so sure this is my fav from them though although it is fucking great imo. This is from 2000 on Arena Rock and has never been re-issued so unfortunately it's pretty steep if you want it now. The lp sounds great. Parts of it sound like classic superdrag 90's alt but then it has some mellower twangy pby Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteLionsMouth @ Boombat, I'm a huge Jam fan as I'm sure you're aware. Didn't notice that but I'm sure there are traces of it there now that you mention it. Yeah, I think we did have a convo about a jam review you did back on that other site (in the city was it?). Good example might be the 26 minute mark. QuoteLionsMouth The Estranged - Self-Titled LP Pretty sure I posted about this band before, but I'm posting this anyway, because I like this record so much. Although this band has been around for a few years, I don't think anything I've heard from them quite measures up to this album. They really hit the mark here, with a mix of throwback post-punk, dark 60s-ish garage rock,by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

The Star Spangles - Which of the two of us is gonna burn this house down? Capital records- 2003 This is a band I miss dearly. When this came out it quickly became somewhat of an anthem for me and a couple close friends. They were from Manhattan and didn't last long. I think they split up around 2008 after a second album. Anyway, these guys kind of reminded me of d generation meets the sby Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

QuoteLionsMouth ^Those are my favorite tracks as well. The Church put out some good stuff early on. Starfish was probably the last truly great record of their "classic period". Check out Heyday and The Blurred Crusade. Their two best LPs IMHO. No doubt, will do!by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Kind of a blind pull today. The Church -Starfish Does not sound like 1988 to me. I became familiar with these guys through their under the Milky Way best of disc maybe 10 years ago and there is a lot from them I have not checked out yet. This is a good album though. Favs are Reptile and of course under the Milky Way.by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteLionsMouth RIDE - Waves Saw RIDE recently and bought this disc at the merch table instead of a $30-40 T-Shirt. I had actually not heard these recordings until now, and they sound markedly different from the studio versions (not necessarily better or worse), so if you like RIDE, this is worth getting. They even do covers of Pale Saints and Dead Can Dance songs, which is pretty unexpecby Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

Meat Wave- Brother Another 7 track EP. This is the 1st release by Brace yourself records on red vinyl. U.K. pressing . I'm terrible at reviews, so I will just say that this one gets played very loud. My fav track is not on youtube. So if you have spotify, here its is. It's not alright Brother Sunlight Sham Kingby Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Quoterchecka QuoteLionsMouth The Durutti Column - Return of the Durutti Column Here is my vinyl copy of the album. This was a fancy reissue done by Factory Benelux a year or two ago, complete with a redesigned version of the sandpaper jacket. That's the version I have too, the one that came with a bonus 7" and the sandpaper jacket. It's a wonderful album. As cool as theby Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteLionsMouth The The - Mind Bomb Not sure how to describe this...artsy pop music of the highest order. If you like this type of thing, you definitely need a few albums by Matt Johnson/The The in your collection. Really love The The. Nice pick. I have to say that Dusk is my favorite by them. I agree as well, these are good additions to a collection.by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Quoterchecka ^I still gotta get Cookie Mountain on vinyl. And I agree that their last 2 albums were let downs. But I do like their early EPs. Right now... Buzzcocks - Singles Going Steadyby Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

Love this album , but sadly don't own it ... I want a copy on vinyl , but can't afford it. The best track IMHO start at 12:55 called The Crosswords And The Safety Pins .Really dope drums on that track .by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

His Electro Blue Voice Ruthless Sperm Working from home today and needed a little pick me up. This is a 7 track lp with a couple of 7+ minute tracks on it. Can't quite place it. I hear bits of pixies mixed with pailhead. Then there this massive attack 3d like vocal at the end. Anyway, grabbed this out of the clearance section in my local store. Loser edition no less.
