Nice Lionsmouth !!! Got this today .. Yautja - Songs Of Lament lp . I have been sleeping on this ( local ) Nashville band . This album is great !! There are elements of death metal , hardcore , sludge , doom , and maybe a little of a crust feel here , but it all blends perfectly !! I’m gonna have to catch these guys live ( they are playing next month I think ) . I will also need to invesby jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Some super chill hip hop instrumentals for me right now .. Home Grown lp . Inner Ocean records and STEEZYASFUCK put this comp together , and they did a great job !! This is a very nice collection of chillout / downtempo hip hop instrumentals from basically bedroom producers . Definitely a sit back and chill to record and I recommend it if you are looking for something that fits that descrby jaybrown - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Quoterchecka Here's a few that I've been digging lately... King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard with Mild High Club - Sketches of Brunswick East LP (Flightless Records) ^Australian psych rock / throwback heavy metal gods. Again, I have eight of their albums and while each is very different and lovable in their own ways, this one is probably in my top 3 of theirs. People oftby jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteGordon Rekcikssa Creation - Creation original release by Express, 1975 - this pressing by Klimt Records, 2012 Wild, bluesy Japanese post-psych from some of the former members of Blues Creation. This is an excellent record that sounds instantly familiar. Not as far out as some of their Japanese contemporaries, but possessing top-notch songwriting skills, these guys made several great aby jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

Enjoyed the mix !! I found it late last night , so I listened to half last night and half this morning . I really want to give it a straight through listen . All three bands are great and you picked some excellent tracks !! If this doesn’t turn people who haven’t heard these bands into fans , then they are just CRAZY !! This is a really good listen . Nice mix homie !!by jaybrown - Member Submissions
I recently picked up another album from the 1859 Records catalog ( also released on Moment Of Collapse records ). Dark Circles - MMXIV lp . I can’t listen to this album enough !! It is a hardcore album , but with a crust attitude . But at the same time has a dark feel almost like black metal . I’ve seen it called blackened crust and I can ride with that description .There are a few almost tby jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I got another Folk punk album today .. Blackbird Raum - Swidden 2lp . I’m glad to finally have this album . These guys are folk punk to the core , with a medieval undertone . I have never gotten into that medieval sound until this band , and the way they combine it with the folk punk and an anarcho attitude really blends well . It’s a solid listen , but there are some slow , very mellow pby jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

^^ Agreed , but I like the medieval direction that Blackbird Raum goes . Which is weird since I’ve never liked that style of music , but the punk rick edge they have take it into another dimension .by jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^^^ I know , super late response , but Born Without A Face is great !! For me over the last few days .. Days N Daze - Crustfall lp. I’ve been listening to a lot of folk - punk / thrashgrass lately . I recently found Days N Daze . I was glad to finally find some of their music on vinyl!! I enjoy this lp , but not quite as much as their older albums ( The Oogle Deathmachine, Rogue Taxidermy )by jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I have been listening to a lot of folk-punk , thrashgrass , etc .. I copped this 7" and it is great !!! Blackbird Raum / Hail Seizures split 7" . There's something about banjos , accordions , mandarins , washboards , and gut buckets ( tub basses ) that are really striking a chord with me right now . This 7" is a great mesh of two bands that are on the same plain but have diby jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
What up CDC . Sorry for the long hiatus . Life gets ahead of you sometimes and things you want to do fall on the back burner ... So this is what I listened to over the last few days .. So I went Billy Woods crazy !! It's funny because I remember Rchecka posting the History Will Absolve Me lp , and I listened to some of it without being impressed . But like everything else I doby jaybrown - Crate Digging: Hip Hop

QuoteSeith His new album is a fantastic listen with only one or two skippable tracks. I picked up the vinyl and the pressing sounds great, although I agree with the inflated price due to extra "things" being a sore spot on this release. I wish there was a white label release of this for real cheap that I could use to spin out during soul sets. Word , I forgot I had $45 in gift cards fby jaybrown - Crate Digging: Hip Hop

@whoisfrank , Manchester Orchestra is a band I am very familiar with as my wife plays them a lot !! That's one of the beauties of my marriage . Although we have completely different tastes in music , we both have what I consider great taste and a mutual respect for each other's tastes in music . @LionsMouth , that Chuck Wayne is right up my alley ! Last night... Various Artists - Puppet Jazz lp . Super dope , mega funky compilation of German 60s and 70s instrumentals . Last night Thelonious Monk - The London Collection vol.3 lp . Black Lion Records RSD 2016 release . This is one of those record that the music helps set in a happy mood for me . I actually copped this on RSD 2016 , and somehow forgot about it . The baby ( toddler now ) was very young then and got most of my attention , so it doesn't surprise me that this slipped through the cracks . Definiby jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
So I hated on this dude back in the day , but I really think I'm feeling his new album !! It's on a whole other tip than what he was on before . Very soulful and funky . My only hang up is that all I can find is the deluxe version which runs $50+ . I like the idea of the heavy vinyl and the full length playing at 45rpm , but don't care about the virtual reality headset and downloadby jaybrown - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
