Quotewhyaduck Gave Radio Birdman a listen today - it's one of those bands that sounds deeply familiar even though I'm sure I've only heard one or two tracks before. Thanks for this post - fun listen! Now that you heard Birdman check out the erotic funk stylings of Birtman!by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^Very cool. I always thought Joe Simon had a very underrated soulful voice.by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I too always try to find Henry Cow. They had a great sound and an unassumingly cool name.by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^Great post, very interesting.by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

(continued) Little Willie John - It Only Hurts A Little While 7" (Jukebox Jam Series) 2013 ^Little Willie John is a veteran off James Brown and affiliates (King Records) fame. Bought this based on the audio clip I heard online so rather than trying to sell it with words I'll let it speak for itself... Lucky Brown - Don't Go Away 7" (Tramp Records) 2008by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Lately I've been on a big time 45 kick / 7" buying spree... Trailer Limon - Love Don't Pay the Bills 7" (Austin Boogie Crew Records) 2017 ^Slowly but surely I am going to buy everything from this label ABC. They have a strangle hold on the modern boogie scene and everything they drop lately has been smart unpretentious 80s funk. Blundetto - Nautilus 7"by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^Very cool. How was Reckless over all? Good store? Chi-town is such a cool town to explore, so much to do and so much to see... but I wouldn't want to live there. A chair that can't be sat in is indeed artistic. Kind of like a monarchy that doesn't rule.by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
You should definitely hit up Dusty Groove, they will absolutely have something you want.by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^That is on my hit list for sure. I need Sleep!by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^Welcome back man! Hope all is well. Nice wax, one of my favorite three kings of Blues is Freddy King!by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Ministry - Twilight Zone (From the new album Amerikkkant) ^Killer album. Ministry killed it on this album.by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Screw the headshell out and lick (yes lick with your tongue) the four gold pins on the now removed headshell. Then very loosely screw it back in and stop tightening when you feel the metal contacts inside contact each other. Never over tighten or problems happen. If you got your stereo sound back it is because there is a buildup of oxidized residue on the headshell pins or inside the toneby rchecka - Turntable Help and Technical Questions
And now... Another... Beat Junkies... sure shot! This one is from Rhetts now legendary "Wedding Mixer" series. For those who don't know it's based on his very seldom DJing for close friends' weddings where he plays mostly 80s freestyle, pop music and feel good 80s Hip Hop. Volume 2.5 is possibly the best in the series. You'll find the cassette still foby rchecka - Mixtape and DJ Mix Share
Mixed by a megafan of a region of Hip Hop and done so meticulously. Most of these songs are very difficult to find and he put this together in the best possible way. I downloaded this years ago when he dropped it on Diggers With Gratitude and it has stayed in rotation this whole time. I even burned it to CDR so I could play it in my car which I almost never do with downloaded mp3s. I donby rchecka - Mixtape and DJ Mix Share
Will Azada is a producer / DJ from Tennessee. I "met" this guy on DJForums.com years ago and as with all the really great mixes I've downloaded from that site over the years I kept this now forggotten DJ mix from him. He's the founder of Propertrax Records and an active DJ and producer in Memphis. He's got a Soundcloud account but this mix is not shared. File thisby rchecka - Mixtape and DJ Mix Share
I'll start this off right with the funky president of the World Famous Beat Junkies... I have countless Beat Junkies mixtapes from their original sources or from downloads from older or now defunct sites and from who knows where that have been collected over my years of following them. Why should they just sit on my hard drive collecting dust when they are so damn good and prime examplesby rchecka - Mixtape and DJ Mix Share

^That sounds great. Last night... UGK - Riding Dirty (Radio Promo) LP (Jive Records) 1996 ^A few of my UGK singles shown here. Nice thing about most of these singles is that they are cheap enough to actually be able to afford doubles. The clean radio version of riding dirty is super dope BTW. Alternate production from the dirty version and rerecorded without the beeps over the curby rchecka - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
^That's awesome.by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Here's a few that I've been digging lately... King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard with Mild High Club - Sketches of Brunswick East LP (Flightless Records) ^Australian psych rock / throwback heavy metal gods. Again, I have eight of their albums and while each is very different and lovable in their own ways, this one is probably in my top 3 of theirs. People often make theby rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

If the boot alone is 50 years old that makes you really scratch your head about how they are still touring. Despite all the drugs and unprotected groupie sex evidently rock is it's own elixir for these guys.by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteLionsMouth Shoji Yokouchi Trio + Yuri Tashiro - Greensleeves LP Japanese guitar jazz from the 70s with a highly polished feel. If you like CTI stuff you'll be at home with this though this avoids a lot of the syrupy arrangements on some of the not so hot CTI albums. It's almost too pristine in a way, but repeated listens show this has soul too. I should also mention this reisby rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Yes, this was definitely a shocker. RIP Craig Mack! He was one of the first to prove that you only need 2 notes to make a killer rap track.by rchecka - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
