^ Recently came across a sealed copy of this for a couple bucks that I couldn't leave behind but I haven't checked it out yet. Look forward to it though.by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^ That's ridiculous. I love it. Here's another one I'm quite fond of. Actually, there's an entire album of this. Just search WUGAZI. Here's my fav. video:by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

^ Man, been really digging Dexter Gordon lately. Haven't heard this one. To the list. Thx.by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
@LM . Definitely an interesting listen all around. Upon 1st listen I wasn't in love (still not quite) but there's something about it that I can't shake and I've wanted to go back and listen to it again. Not normal for me. I pretty much make my mind up quickly on a new release. Anyway, still mulling over buying the lp. Does it sound good? The production felt a little bit flat aby Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^ I think it's worth your time for sure. A bit of a blind flea market pickup. I'm glad I found it. Oh Excel...best of luck to you. My excel goal this year is pivot tables. Bastards.by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

QuoteLionsMouth Blur - Magic Whip LP I held off buying this for awhile, mainly because it was very expensive and I wasn't sure about the quality of the pressing. When it came out, I just bought the CD and have been listening to that for awhile. I'm happy to report that the LP version appears to be excellent all around, very quiet in terms of surface noise, but mastered with plby Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

^I'm listening to the second LSL album now, I'm thinking this may deserve some attention as I like it upon first sweep through. I should also probably dig out the 1st one too as its buried somewhere at the moment. Complete side note: I think I came across LSL after seeing the furs live post reunion and Richard Fortus was with them. I remember thinking he killed it up there. ^Yeah, can't imagine it would be. What's your take on love spit love? I haven't listened to them in forever and to be honest I only recall the cover of how soon is now as the only thing that caught my attention from them. Actually, I didn't mind a couple tracks off the S/T album. That was a long time ago though...by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^ interesting, didn't know that. Will have to look for that as well. The DVD sounds great so hopefully that does as well.by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
@LM Yes, the 1st one is great too. I honestly can't choose which one I like better but these two are probably my favorites by them. I've always thought India was one of the best openers on an album ever. Speaking of which, pick up their live at house of blues DVD if you don't already have it. It also opens with India and its fucking excellent.by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^ Good album. I'll agree, not as good as others though. Funny enough, I just finished listening to talk talk talk about 20 minutes ago. Love that one...by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

Quoterchecka ^Good words Boombat, and congrats on the 9 month old. Thanks man!by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Sorry guys, catching up here. My 9 month old is getting really good at eating up all my "me" time to reply lately. Anyway, thanks Rchecka for the review nod! Ha, And also I think this might have been a reply to my post? If so, yeah, shoegaze has come alive again it seems with all the revival groups but this was a time when it was "new" again and had a bit more weight to it. @by Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteLionsMouth @Boombat, yeah, I'm sure they played whatever was recent material at the time, just like most bands. Maybe I just caught them on a really bad night as well. I should probably go back and check out their first two records at some point. I tend to be a sucker for guitar atmospherics even when I'm not 100% in love with the singer's voice. I mean, look at the first twoby Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteLionsMouth @Boombat, I remember this band getting a ton of praise by the Big Takeover when they just had a few small time indie releases out. I was later surprised to see them get signed to a major and the whole thing with a big name producer. Never got into them though. I saw them open for Swervedriver in 2007 or 2008 and thought they were horrible. Not trying to be a dick, but they were juby Boombat - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Longwave - The Strangest Things RCA-2003 I'm horrible at these things, but here goes. The moment I heard these guys, it clicked. There it is...Basslines, drums and with washed out ebows.. Lots and lots of color and layers, with melody. These guys are sometimes referred to as shoegaze which actually sorta meant something worthwhile back in 2003.
