Thanks for checking us out man.. on the records you bought.. that Gang Starr record was a great deal. I graded it GOOD but it could have easily been VG or better to most people. I tend to grade everything conservatively and usually even a G record from us will be pretty decent and playable.. also wanted to say that often clean edits / radio versions are SLEPT ON. People downgrade them because it&by metrowax - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I don't know everything, but to me Bay Area is the best and was very active in the late 1980's through mid 1990's. Lots of underground joints and of course classic artists like Too Short, E-40, Mac Mall, Tupac (RIP), Digital Underground, Souls Of Mischief. There's so many!! A couple of my favorite cuts are '93 Til Infinity by Souls Of Mischief and Bammer Weed by RBL Posseby metrowax - Crate Digging: Hip Hop

I can't vote on this one either. It's hard to pick when you throw up two well accomplished legends like that. I'd give a slight edge to KRS if I can throw in all of his earlier BDP work though..by metrowax - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Great footage rchecka, thanks. Took me back to '86 for a minute or two..by metrowax - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
I like how the list of hip hop albums is presented, and I like most if not all of the albums, but Niggaz 4 Life by N.W.A. is not the 2nd greatest hip hop album of all time. It wouldn't beat Straight Outta Compton and it's definitely not in my top 50. Original Gangster was a good album, but probably still not in my top 20. Whoever made this list has not listened to every album, or justby metrowax - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
I will probably hoard this record for another 10-12 months, and then, perhaps you can buy it rchecka. For now, it's just too dope/rare/etc. to sell!by metrowax - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
KRS-One is a legend. A little past his prime but still A-rate. I am still hanging onto the KRS One - Questions remix. Dope. Now, are there any questions?by metrowax - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Boom! Thanks to DJBoomBap for the positive ID on that Black AG track. I guess it wasn't impossible - your skills are legendary. Adding this to my wantlist now...by metrowax - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
The track is Pick It Up by Kenny Dope, not Home Team (though I like that a lot too!). I actually dug through my crates and am listening to it RIGHT NOW on vinyl. Could not find any video though. Here it is on Discogs. As a matter of fact, you can remove "(intro bits incl. Big Daddy Kane-Sex According to the Prince of Darkness and Black Sheep-the Choice is Yours)" and justby metrowax - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Yo Yo. Glad that all of you seem to be feeling this mix. I had a chance to re-listen to it multiple times over the weekend and I have a few updates to the tracklisting. Thanks to Commish for getting it started! I will highlight in bold the things I have changed. This is the best Golden Age Hip Hop mixtape I have ever heard. Flawless mixing, strong track selection, a few well known classics, a few underground tracks, all coasts represented. Listen to it multiple times and you'll catch the subtle parts of the mix. CMB is dope. I had the pleasure of hearing this mixtape when it was first dropped in the Chicagoland area in 1992 - and at that time - theby metrowax - Crate Digging: Hip Hop

I peeped this album with rchecka. I must admit, I didn't have much hope for it - since "Through The Wire" was the last song from Kanye that I got excited about. But it was actually much better than his last couple releases. I'd say significantly better. The vinyl with the packaging is quite dope - over the top quality (but it should be at the price). I see a lot of articles hollering about vinyl making a comeback. I know one thing - I'd certainly rather be selling vinyl records right now than CDs.by metrowax - General Discussion

Thanks for the Theismann clip, I hadn't seen that in awhile. LT was definitely one of the most vicious hitters the NFL has ever seen.by metrowax - General Discussion
That's a great thing for Derrick Rose to do. Not only is he a complete player, but a stand up guy as well. GO BULLS!! I hope they win a 7th ring.by metrowax - General Discussion
Definitely a Top-5 overweight MC. Who else would round out the Top-5? I will throw out Big Pun, Heavy D, and Fat Joe, and I was going to say Fat Boys, but I personally don't think they are good enough MC's to make a Top-5 list.by metrowax - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
