QuoteGordon Rekcikssa Timothy Leary & Ash Ra Tempel - Seven Up Die Kosmischen Kuriere / Ohr, 1973 - MG.ART, 2011 I've had a complicated relationship with this album over the years. For a long time, it was my least favorite of Ash Ra Tempel's catalog. The CD in the photo, however, is the version remastered by Manuel Göttsching, and it has made me rethink that. @ Gordon Rekcikssa , that cassette reminds me of the demos we used to make in my friend Byrd's garage back in high school with a portable cassette player . Except we weren't that scary !!by jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^^ agreed on all points . That clip sounds great Rchecka !! And there definitely is a deficit of the vibraphone in music these days .by jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Right now , listening to some psych . More Numero of course . Pices - A Lovely Sight lp . I posted a different Pices album from the Project 12 subscription . It was part of these original recording , but not chosen to go on this album . I'm thinking that had to be a tough choice because I dug that album as much as this one . Both worth having ...by jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I have a hard time deciding if I like that one or Illadelph Halflife the best . I'm still a fan of the a Roots but I definitely prefer their earlier work .by jaybrown - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
^^ got that , love it . I'm a big fan of Soulive remixed or not .by jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I have always been a fan of the song Sunny by Bobby Hebb . I mean , how could that song get any better , right ?? Well I came across this stripped down live version with Bobby Hebb and Ron Carter that blew me away. Got me thinking that there must be more of these live versions that are as amazing or better than the original recordings. Add on if you know any.by jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Played this last night Jack McDuff - Sofisticated Funk lp . For the most part , this is a pretty laid back album . But super funky nonetheless . There a a few uptempo funk moments though . Definitely a great listen .by jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^^ Nice !! That dude has skills . One of my friends is really into Dead Can Dance and there is quite a bit of hammered Dulcimer in their music .by jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^^agreed !! Nice mod funk/soul score Rchecka !! I played a few 7s last night.. The Shangri-las - I can never go home anymore / bull dog 7". I've always liked this band . Something about that bleak , depressed attitude they had about things that made them stand out from a lot of the bands of the time . The flip side is more similar to the sound of the time Mr. Gnome - Delivby jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Wow!! That sucks . I have given them a ton of business . That's a shitty way to run a business and I can't stand behind it . Thanks for the info homie !!by jaybrown - General Discussion
Damn , that sucks Rchecka !! I was hoping you had something great there . Fakes , frauds , and scumbags are everywhere and they have no boundaries as to what they will get their greasy mits into . That dudes a joke and it's awesome that you confronted him !!by jaybrown - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Recently been bumpin a few classic reissues . Gang Starr - Daily Operation lp . Sorry about the weird pic . It is a 3D lenticular cover and it doesn't photograph well . I've picked up a few of these Respect The Classics hip hop reissues and I've been pretty happy so far . Besides , how can you go wrong with Guru (R.I.P.) and Premier ?? And for another Respect The Classics reiby jaybrown - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Before you started making these mixes , I would have said that I hated country music . I have enjoyed each one so far . My favorite tracks are the Lewisburg Prison and Crash Out . Not sure why it's the prison songs that I like the best ?? Nice use of skits too . Great job on this one homie !!by jaybrown - Member Submissions
^^ I said the same thing at first . Like man some of this is not what I'm into , but have managed to really enjoy every album so far . The albums are broke up into three categories and can actually be purchased by category instead of paying for the full subscription . Maybe one specific category includes the albums you have an interest in .by jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^^ agreed .by jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^^ this sounds great !! Really digging all the different elements .by jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteLionsMouth QuoteGordon Rekcikssa QuoteLionsMouth David Parsons - Himalaya That's some good stuff. The mid to late 80s were a great time for New Age. Fortuna was one of the better labels back then. Admittedly I used to avoid anything related to New Age like the plague for a long time. It wasn't until a couple years ago that I started to slowly explore the more New Age side ofby jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I think they are only gonna be available through the project 12 . But there are a few buying options.by jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
So Project 12 was a 2016 record subscription club started by Numero . You get one record a month and each was limited to 1000 . My wife got this for me for Christmas . With this being the end of 2016 , I received this.. That's right !! All 12 at once !!! . Sorry about the crooked albums in the crooked pic. I had to quickly lay them out and snap a pic before my daughter decided they were hby jaybrown - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I use an audioquest carbon fiber brush for light static . I don't know if it's my mind playin tricks on me , but I feel like if I put my free hand on the base of the tonarm when using the brush , it acts as a ground . I'm probably just loosin it ...by jaybrown - Turntable Help and Technical Questions
You talk about static like it's a bad thing . Who doesn't love every speck of dust in the air being pulled onto the playable surface of their prized albums ??by jaybrown - Turntable Help and Technical Questions

Damn , very sad news .. I've seen quite a few online stores that I really like suffer the same fate ( 720records.com ,360vinyl , etc ). Accesshiphop.com is still up and running even though the physical store is gone . Fatbeats , turntablelab , and dustygroove are good for copping hip hop . Giantpeach.com used to have a great selection of underground CDs , but I haven't been on that siteby jaybrown - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
