Dilla was a better producer being he worked with various artists from Poe to Bilal to De La Soul but Q-Tip, considering his whole catalog of production, made superior music. Dilla's music goes from great (Stakes Is High) to wack (Players). QTip's production is far more consistent.by Hamza21 - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
My focus on music is waning due to several reasons, most primarily it doesn't make me any income. I earn a living doing others things thus my time is limited. Also due to so much crap to filter through to find quality music these days yet I still find mixes to post on my site, twice a week, plus other mixes on Mixtape Unites, once a week, and posting free music every Friday starting todayby Hamza21 - Member Submissions

I first started with the concept using drum breaks from Paul Nice's Drum Library series combining them with acapellas from Jurassic 5 yet after listening to a mix of Minneapolis based artists I decided to ditch the concept and create blends mix featuring various artists from Minneapolis and Paul Nice drums breaks. I have many ideas for themes for mixes but as always, time is an issue. However despite my very limited time I was able produce another volume within my Lost In The Crates series. As with first volume expect a short mix of superb Hip Hop and Funk from my crates. Unlike all of other series of mixes I did not go digging for tracks to include within this mix. I only used tracks already within cratesby Hamza21 - Member Submissions
Made exclusively with tracks from the Lost Breakbeats series by The 45 King. Released between the years of 1990 and 1993 the series contained quite a selection of funky boom bap joints that the Mark The 45 King is known for. With so many quality productions deciding which beats to feature in this tribute mix was a bit difficult. Despite the difficulty I believe I procured the choicest beats to prby Hamza21 - Member Submissions
For those who missed it here's a recording of the show featuring my mix and DJ Pnutz dropping video game theme mix. About the mix With this mix I tried to take the listeners back to a time when I used listen underground Hip Hop mixshows in early 90's. Plenty of little known tunes of the past and a few newer tunes of today all in all a solid hip hop experience. I hope you all enjoy tby Hamza21 - Member Submissions
For all of those who enjoyed the first 2 volumes of my Feel Good Feel Right series here's volume three. Unlike FGFR 1 & 2 I didn't include any music from 1970's,only great soulful tunes from 80's - 2000's. There will be a Feel Good Feel Right 4 coming in or around August of this year. Until then enjoy this mix of soulful midtempo R&B. The Dynamic Hamzaby Hamza21 - Member Submissions
Did you enjoy Volume one (Here)? As you know, I like to keep a human element to my mixes thus there's a little roughness, here and there, still volume two contains plenty of boom bap joints to make your head nod. Honestly when I started this mix I didn't how it would turn out or where it go. Should I make a straight up mix of instrumentals or layer a bunch of beats together - multitrack style? Ultimately I decided to the let the beats speak for themselves. That's why this mix was made. It didn't get that way until around 2008 or so. In around 2006 more and more deejays became lazy and only played radio hits, old and new, they stopped digging for their music. Instead they played to the crowd rather than playing for the crowd. The difference is between a performer and service provider. A performer delivers a performance that some may hatby Hamza21 - Member Submissions
More of that 70's to 2000's R&B goodness many of you love. As with volume one Feel Good Feel Right 2 contains some songs you may know and others you may have missed through the years. Later in the year there will be a volume three but for now I moving on to other mixes. Namely, a second volume of my Edited For Your Pleasure series. The release date for that mix will be February 11by Hamza21 - Member Submissions
Originally I intended this new mix series to be centered on 80's Funk style R&B but after digging through my crates and finding so many great tunes I went with another direction. Instead of just 80's R&B I included R&B from 1970's til present. Some of songs you may know and others you may have missed through the years. Some may fall more on the melancholy side but all iby Hamza21 - Member Submissions
I've been meaning to make party mix for awhile and after my comments spawned a discussion on Pipomixes back in July. Moreover a famous deejay asked me recently what I rather hear at a club, a Nas classic "It Ain't Hard to Tell" or Chief Keef's "I Don't Like"? My response is neither! In my view the role of the Deejay is not playing what the crowd waby Hamza21 - Member Submissions
After reading all the comments I thought I was going to hear Mel say something outlandish but after watching the video I can't say disagree with anything he said. His main points are through the years the music industry changed Hip Hop to platform to promote negativity. Thus as result you see all that negativity present in the lives of many of this generation. As I stated before (Here) my next mix would feature all blends/remixes. Edited For Your Pleasure contains seven official remixes and the rest being blends/remixes I had in my crates. I rushed to finish this mix in time so it's a little rough in some places nonetheless still a solid mix of great tunes. With over 20 years making solid Hip Hop joints Cube is one of the most consistent rappers. Although as of late he seems be letting his sons OMG & Doughboy persuade him towards more of top 40 crap Rap sound Cube is still on point lyrically. In that regard he has never fallen off despite what the naysayers had said about his movie career choices. With Volume One I tackle some quality Ice Cubby Hamza21 - Member Submissions
Thomax..he's remix files series are tight as hell. Life Rexall always has something worthwhile Kon Sci from Minds One has a solid discography. Kero One used have some great tracks but now he's leaning towards the Pop autotune and Edm sound. He's early work is superb.by Hamza21 - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
I have no respect for Jean Grae she's too arrogrant and unprofessional for me. I was at Paid Dues 2007,shes was on the bill for months and yet she didn't have a DJ! She showed up with cd and begged Mr Len (who was only there to DJ between acts not perform) to act as her DJ, since she didn't have one. I haven't heard many of his later albums but his first album is a definite classic. Whenever I think of Jeru I always think of hearing him threathening to beat up Joe Quixx on The Wake Up Show for not playing his record. Here they are the tribute mixes from The World Famous Wake Up Show. Since there are so many I going break them up into three posts, in no particular order, since I'm not certain the order in which the mixes were aired. Also to note most of the mixes didn't have a mix cover so many of the covers you'll see are the ones I made with Paint.net and Gimp back in 2010,when I first postedby Hamza21 - Member Submissions
