@hiphopchiq1...The whole story is earlier in the thread
@rc & jb...the purple on got worn a couple times back in the day (can't believe Eye ever fit these shirts...they're like a double medium...lol). Even w/o the wear, these are some pretty cheesy shirts in terms of material (not to mention, graphically)...time has not been kind to them. Holdin' on to 'em for nostalgia

... @ a show we (Eye was one of the cats that replaced the original members of Newcleus....another story for another time) were playing in Miami. The lineup was Too Tough Tee, 2Live Crew (who hadn't quite broke out nationally yet), The Real Roxanne & Howie Tee, Schooly D...and Eye don't remember if Mikey D. & The Symbolic 3 did this particular show but, they were

Always dug Jean Gray from the Natural Resource (What What) days and the stuff w/Herbaliser...actually had a few joints with them that were nice. Never got quite the respect that she was due IMO...but Eye, agree, she had slipped a bit in the later efforts. She was featured on the slept on Mr Len album quite a bit. Would be nice to hear some new heat...she's got one of more twisted minds in Hi

Just caught them and Salt n Pepa live @ Wingate Park in Brooklyn on Monday. Both groups did well. Crowd gave Flav crazy love! They did a joint off the new album...@ which point the crowd did a mass exodus, which Eye thought was f'd up cuz the song wa

You got em all right, Eye, except for "The Maniacs - Crack, Crack Dont Do It". That's not on the mix.
Yeah...that was one of the only one's Eye couldn't find the audio for but, the year and title seemed to be right so Eye took a shot. Gotta dig a little more. And where's KBlow#1 when ya need 'em?!? They could probably nail the KB stuff off the to

@hiphopchiq1....sup, I'm new round these parts too ....well kinda, LOL ....but, welcome aboard!
In regards to your question as to whether LF cleared his sample....if he didn't, well it might a tiny bit hypocritical but, hey, if the publishers of the original tune didn't catch him and sue to get theirs then shame on them...but, at the end of the day, LF DID catch MM using his w

Lord Finesse vs. Mac Miller could mean big problem for mixtapes in general. If Finesse wins, could call into question usage of existing instrumentals on any mixtape...but from where Eye sit, he's in the right.

@P...good call on UK Fresh....was a critical point for Hip Hop's international recognition.
Rock The Bells proved that Hip Hop could do the festival style events successfully (without having to be packaged with other genres).
Of course, all these more recent festival events (Bonaroo, Lalapalooza, RTB, Glastonbury, etc.) are all trying to recapture the Woodstock & Monterey essence.

Heard a radio ad the other day for "the biggest musical event in history"....or least, that's what they were calling it in the commercial. It was advertising the now annual 2-day mega-concert that media beast Clear Channel Communications puts on featuring about 25 headline-caliber pop music acts. Of course, the mere fact that it involves the biggest corporate player in the radio g

Hard call because of a lack of consistency for a lot underground cats....Eye have a lot of one offs in that category.
RA is very entertaining...very unique, always stands out on a track...prefer him on collabos, kinda like Busta.
Yesh & Siah had that epic, "A Day Like Any Other" and the remix "A Day Like No Other"...those joints were crazy! Eye have some solo stuff b

Ok...let me start this by sayin', Eye have no stories with me staring down the barrel!!! LOL....not to say Eye was never @ any function where cats popped off, but usually it was outside of the venue or Eye was not close enough to the static for it to be more than, "we heard shots, and we bounced"....hahaha. In fact, Eye think that the only time Eye was directly effected by gunplay

Eye don't know if Eye thought "slave" at first glance, so much as "jail"...either way, Eye think it's in poor taste but, like L.E.S. said, you know somebody would rock 'em. The designer is claiming that slavery was not on the brain...Eye would love to hear what was the inspiration for these joints?
