I think that's the second time you've mentioned your bias for that record hiphopchiq1, what's the story?
I love that album too, so many good cuts and for the world at large it's definitely a sleeper record.
How about a couple more recent ones?

That Siah and Yeshua Dapo ED Visualz EP is a classic in my book. I finally picked it up on wax recently (from a DWG'er) and Jesper must've really lucked out coming up on that one for cheap...it's not crazy expensive, but a nice copy is definitely in the $40-60 range. Anyways, FANTASTIC record.
Also, Jesper, that Antonio Carlos e Jocafi is something I've been fiending for af

I haven't gotten into the Flaming Lips too heavily (no vinyl, some digital) but that is some serious collection there!

You guys and your metal! I gotta say, I just can't get down with it. Having said that, a lot of those metal musicians (and this is coming from a complete outsider of the genre) have SERIOUS chops. Anything you think would be an easy transition to a non-metal listener?

I've seen that too...but I gotta say, I don't know why you're upset.
I'm definitely not upset. More like amused by the sheer newbie smell overpowering that forum. I don't live there but rarely do I see even a remotely experienced comment from anyone, seems like they are all in good company.

^^^ I will say, it is pretty funny to see those comments of "I'm so jealous you got " as if it's hard to find or special. These are mostly teens and college-kids from the looks of it without expendable cash to spend on records, can't hate on that, but it's a different crowd that's probably not worth the time for anyone that actually spends a good deal of time th

I've seen that too...but I gotta say, I don't know why you're upset. That place is clearly for "tourists" as you mentioned, ie. those folks newly infatuated with the format more than the music. Either way, people gotta start somewhere, it's clearly obnoxious as shit that people post pictures of their latest pick-ups, collections, etc. but keep it moving, they're

That Thai funk record is something I saw at a record store but just couldn't afford at the time, looks like it may be worth going back to cop.

The amount of material that Creed Taylor and Van Gelder put out is just amazing, sooooo many jazz classic under their collective belts.

^^ gonna have to peep those later on.
I like that Adrian Younge record, BK-One told me online that he and his band invented a new keyboard designed to sound like an organ recorded to vinyl specifically for this record and tour...lol, crazy.
I listened to this Bobby Hutcherson record earlier this morning, that Van Gelder stamp is crucial.

I'll have to think on that, I've not got the deepest Brazilian collection but like you it's always something I'm learning more about. I have a bunch of really great cuts on random comps. that have left me little information, I really gotta step up and pony out for a few of the classics. Not really on the Verocai tip but top on my list and I'm embarrassed I don't own

A New Perspective is definitely a top five jazz record for me. He put out such an amazing amount of good material and was definitely one of the great examples of a jazz artist progressing and continuing to put out music through the years.

Yeah I agree, I liked the first one of this "series" better for sure. And like you, I'm also happy I copped. This is one of those things that would be easily regrettable to not purchase but also very easy to pass on for the same amount you paid.
This just arrived, K-Def!!!

Short Eyes is without a doubt my favorite Curtis Mayfield record (and, having said that, one of my favorite ever).
^^^ none of those things would be in my "normal listening" patterns but all of it sounds interesting if not down-right dope (though I can't envision my ever taking a liking to Megadeath lol, I should check it out first though!). That psych comp. sounds like somethi

"Mas vale morir parrado que vivir de rodillas," Emiliano Zapata said it before James Brown, not that it takes away from it!
Gonna have to think on this topic some, like BM31 said there are just too many to list (particularly when we're clearly all fans of music that is damn-near rebellious in its nature). Still, I think you're right rchecka, some songs are just the perfect

I've been getting in contact with some people to get a hold of some of the harder-to-find Damu The Fudgemunk releases in order to fulfill my inner nerdiness and complete the Damu vinyl collection, I got a good line on a couple of the pricier/limited pieces this week and will be shelling out more than usual for a couple records. In any case, I grabbed this for a quick relisten:

Nice pick ups, there's a couple you've got pictured there that I've almost purchased: Country Funk and the Thom Janusz one in particular...sounds like that second one is worth grabbing? The Country Funk release was just kind of intriguing to me but I'm not one for country (or Southern Rock for that matter) so I'll end up skipping that. I still don't have the Quakers
