MAN... I know that some of you don't like Em, but this is the best album I can even think of in the last 10 years.

Most here won't buy it, but you need to,seriously.

Don't know if they pressed it on wax or not, but this al um is ridiculous.

Edit: Man, I am BLOWN away from this. I posted half way through the album. There is not a better album in the past 10 years, and probably 15.
This shit is raw. If you like beats and like lyrics, you can't get better right now, go listen to the golden era, haha.

Yo Boombap , I got mad respect for you homie , and I appreciate every post , so on your recommendation I listened to this album this morning . I still can't see what it is that you see in this album . Maybe if I was an angsty teen who was tired of nirvana and decided to give rap a try , I might feel it . This is the same shit he's been spitting since day one . Bitch die .. People doubt me so I just get louder and wine more to try to impress them . Listen to this track about how hard my life still is ( come on dude , get off it ) . I still think it's missing the rawness and grit that other people seem to hear . Also , Necro already spit a worthless track over that "Who's Your Daddy " beat , why try to top it with another worthless track . Sure Eminem can rhyme , but he needs to grow up and spit something with substance to impress me . No offense Boombap , but I hated it .... Would write more , but I'm at work .. Hope were still friends homie ....

If we all agreed on everything it'd be a boring world, so I wouldn't worry about having an honest opinion on it JB. Boom bap knows this too, his steeze aint everyone's, nor is yours.

If you didn't know now, you know, and knowing is... well, you know the rest. Freddie

BTW: I gotta add this... It's a really cool idea to break down a Hip Hop album like this on it's own thread. I hope you guys do more of these. It's great reading to see a little discussion\debate\disagreement\agreements on specific albums.

Vids are cool and everything, but there's nothing like reading a good write up by true fans. I'm gonna start a few myself and hopefully Boom Bap or the rest of you lurking sons a bitches start doing the same. ((Spy)) ((cop)))

Keep holding it down Boom Bap!thumbs up

Not mad one bit. I realized before I posted this thread that I was going against the grain here, but I had to post it up anyway.

I think that Em's Zombie sample isn't shit, obviously produced by Rick (Co-Produced by Em). Just like "So Far..." which does a great job of sampling "Life's Been Good" by Joe Walsh. And don't forget the retro feel Berzerk, also produced by Rick.

As far as "the same ol' shit" raps, thats what people want, that's Em. He fell off for years, straight pop (which to some is all he ever was). " Bitch die" A LOT of dudes can relate to, me included, I'm divorced. I was 15 or 16(?) when I first heard Em, some random freestyles before the Marshal Mathers LP dropped, he blew me away. It was totally different shit (maybe for me cause I was "an angry white teenager", who knows), but I was instantly addicted to the word play and the griminess.

This album addresses a lot of the complaints you (and others) have with Em. Sure his voice is whiney, and he has a few poppy sounding songs. He hasn't been underground for ever, but the shit he says, and the way he says it is unbelievable. Just because you or I can't necessarily relate to everything he says, doesn't mean that others feel the complete opposite. I can still relate to a lot of the frustrations with life and women that Em raps about. I can relate to having a shitty mother and no father, because my own son has a shitty mother not much different than Em's, and my step son hasn't talked to his dad in over a year, even though I have great parents.

The dude has 2 songs over 6 minutes (one is over 7) by himself, and goes off on both. I understand if the topics you can't feel, it's not for everybody/not everybody can relate, but a lot of people can, even if it's the same ol' shit he's been spitting for years.

I don't really think that you heard the album even if you listened to it (no offense), which I can relate to, because if you asked me to listen to the new Lil' Wayne album, I would be so skeptical, I wouldn't really listen to it, I'd preview it (surf through it) and not really pay attention, because I have already decided, I don't like Lil Wayne ( he annoys me) . I don't hate you for that (and I could be totally wrong also). I know exactly what it's like to have to listen to (you didn't have to, and I appreciate that you did) what you feel is wack ass shit. I DJ high school dances, 90% of the music I play, SUCKS!

Anyway, hope this all makes sense, I'm not the best at typing out exactly what I'm trying to say and making it coherent. I'm not mad at all and hope you aren't either. Music is subjective, it's assholes, if you catch my drift. Feel free to debate/question anything I have said, I will not get mad at all, it's your opinion vs. mine, no harm done. I hope I haven't pissed you off, we are all homies here. I am not asking you or anybody that doesn't like Em, or this album to like him/it whatsoever, but I do.

To me it's a breath of fresh air, to you it's a whiff of musty fart! Haha!
