I got a chance to catch this amazing tour last week . Thought I would drop a little review .
The night started with ...

DJ Rhettmatic on the ones and twos . He started his set with a very clumsy sounding juggle . It was kinda amateur sounding , but you could tell by the look on his face that it was planned that way . It quickly built into a great juggle intro to an even better mix . His track selection and blends were top notch . He even managed to throw in a tribute to Dilla that fit right into the rest of the mix . I should also mention that his cuts and juggles in the the mix were right on time too . This was about as good of an opening act as you could get .
As Rhett's set was winding down , a familiar face came out from back stage ....

It's Supernatural !! Rhettmatic also DJed his set ( two thumbs up for his set with Supernat too ) . Now , I have watched a good amount of video of Supernatural , but wasn't really sure what to expect . Everybody knows that this dude is nice with freestyles , but I wasn't sure if it would move crowd . But it did !! I actually enjoyed his set way more than I expected . Even though I've heard his frees on video more times than I can count , I was still amazed to hear it live . He worked in the freestyle obstacle course too , where he had the crowd pull things out of their pockets and he worked the objects his rhymes . Plus we got to see his 3 emcees track/skit where he does great impersonations of Busta Rhymes , Slick Rick , and Biggie . Very entertaining .
Next up was ...

Dilated Peoples !! This is one of those groups that I always liked , but their music some how seemed to end up on the back burner .so , once again , I was wondering how entertained I would actually be ...The answer is .....Extremely !!! These dudes put on an awesome show . Evidence and Rakaa put on their a-game for this show . You ( me ) kinda forget how dope the dudes rhymes are . Not to mention their ability keep the crowd hype . Now for DJ Babu . All I can say is WOW !! His entire part in this set was dope !! He had his own solo set in the middle of their set and it was one of the best exhibitions of turntablism I've ever heard . His cuts and juggles were as close to flawless as I think you can get . I will definitely be checking out their new album .
It's hard to believe that all 3 artists / groups that I mentioned so far were still the opening acts . Last but not least ....

Jurrasic 5 !!!! I have waited a long time to see these dudes live . It was well worth the wait . They blew the crowd away . Every track was on point . That syncopated throwback sound that they are known for really shined in their set . I know they been on hiatus for a minute , but they definitely haven't lost it !! As for their djs , Nu-Mark and Cut Chemist killed it . They put on the most inventive , creative part of the show . During their solo , they did a nice mini mix , followed with some interesting turntablism . First off they had a ( probably 4' x 4' ) turntable that looked like a stage prop , that was actually a controler that they used to cut with . Then Cut Chemist busts out his turntable / guitar . It was a turntable with a mixer built into a sort of guitar frame , thrown around his neck with a strap like a guitar . Nu- Mark then throws on what looks like a long necklace/chestplate made of records that were attached together . This turned out to be a midi controler that had pressure sensitive pads in the middle of each record . He banged out some ill beats on his chest of records while Cut Chemist blasted out some dope scratches on his turntable guitar . Cut chemist also busted out a cdj version of the guitar .. It was crazy . Not to mention the fact that their was still about 45 more minutes of the full group to follow . They took requests and were very humble to the crowd ( as were the other 3 acts of the night ) . Just when we thought it was over . The guys left the stage for what we thought was the end of the show .... But reimurged a few minutes later to give us a 30 minute encore . It was a great night ....
