Get On Down

Ridin Dirty (2-LP Clear Vinyl)

Bun B and Pimp C (R.I.P.) have long been legends in the rap game, deservedly calling themselves Underground Kingz. At a time when Southern Rap had to fight it's way for respect, U.G.K kept cranking out albums that would soon solidify them as rap royalty. With Ridin' Dirty, their third album, Bun B and Pimp C had reached an apex, making an album that was just an instant classic. It has everything that people have come to expect from Houston rap: candy-painted cars, wood-grained steering wheels, flashy jewelry, late-night odes to lean and weed, passing references to DJ Screw tapes, those warm funk synthesizers that sound like radio oldies.

Produced mainly by Pimp C, Ridin' Dirty has impeccable usage of Funk, Soul and Gospel samples. Songs like “One Day”, “Murder”, “Hi Life” and of course the title track all stand out as of their best work. Other tracks like "3 in the Morning" - which proves to be one of the album's rawest cuts (with insane bass) or "Pinky Ring" stand out as the duo at their best. Now almost 20 years later and never being commercially available on vinyl, we are proud to present UGK Ridin' Dirty on double clear vinyl.

SOURCE

Keep in mind the clean radio version of this classic LP is all that has been in normal circulation for a long time. The Dirty version of this on vinyl recently sold on Ebay for a large amount of money because it's so rare. For something this classic, it'd be nice to hear the dirty version on LP.

TLDR: I have the clean LP, want the dirty... Does it sound ayite or all bootleggy?

Someone mentioned to me that the label involved in this usually just pulls their source from a 16/44 CD master. I don't know if that matters to you, but it's something to consider. I'll probably just pass since I've already got the CD.

Yeah it definitely matters to me. I've bought plenty of records that were mastered from CD and ultimately sound like the CD which completely defeats the purpose of listening to records. I got suckered into buying enough of those crap pressings and ended up selling every one of them after the moment I played them.

I don't need the CD on vinyl either. I'd pass on buying this if this can be confirmed true.

I'll let you know. I just copped. I have a few of their releases ( Wildstyle 7" book boxset ,Stunts Blunts & Hip Hop reissue , Illmatic reissue, and Paid In Full 7") and wasn't disappointed with the quality. Hopefully this one will pay off too since this is probably one of the most played cds I ever owned . It's shipping media mail , so I will let you know in about a week.....
