i'm actually not a big fan of skits. Yeah - some of them are funny and all (i.e., Redman's), but I buy an album/CD/whatever to listen to rappin'..beats - not hear people bulls*it or use movie scene dialogue, etc., in-between tracks/songs.

I hear you P. But regardless of liking them or being annoyed by them the question remains, do you think it's uniquely Hip Hop enough to be a solid contender for the next version? Personally I think Hip Hop is the only genre to do skits at all, so I think it's a valid contender.
