Big beer-head here. Philly is such a great place for craft-brews...some local, plenty "imported." "Philly Beer Week" is/was huge, such a great time with awesome events all around (met one of the head guys from Firestone Walker...David Walker IIRC)...will have to post some pics when I get the chance. This past winter I got the chance to try Pliny The Younger (!!!)...only a very small taster split with a friend but wow, that's one to remember.

Either way, some good local brews for sure but its hard to beat a good Westcoast IPA (e.g. Pliny, Firestone Union & Double Jack, Ballast Point Sculpin, etc. etc.). I had a Six Point Brew IPA tonight (or a couple) and it was definitely solid.

As for local, this is my most common summer session beer. When I get home from work and want to drink a few a good Pilsner like this is hard to beat (I'm totally a "hop-head" but each beer has its place):

Done several places that do the microbrew thing around here but, the only locally brewed joint Eye fux with is this one....

^^ Nice. Have you tried Six Point Brewery's stuff? They're out of Redhook.

@vamosarapiar....Nah...gotta check for them. Had Redhook Ale but they're outta Seattle.

Speaking of a good Stout, this Wisconsin brewery always puts out champion beer.

One of my favorite stouts is Gray's Oatmeal Stout.
