Something I have been thinking about a lot lately, especially when trying to help my kid learn cursive hand-writing for school... Is it irrelevant for kids to even try learning this stuff, cuz no one does it anymore, might as well be teaching them Latin like they did with my parents when they were in school.

Seems like there is a genuine loss of art here with texting and typing making up 99.9 percent of non-vocal communication. Sometimes I'll try to write a letter and I can hardly recognize my own scribble handwriting any more. I depend on spell checker to red underline all my sentences. When texting I got acronyms for acronyms that didn't mean anything to anyone only 5 years ago. I think the human population is getting more and more distracted by technology, we all have no attention span and are addicted to our devices. I feel like I'm gonna go into convulsions if I walk too far away from my Android.

Makes me want to leave work early and go fishing, so I can get back to nature and the simple things as a break from the norm.

I agree

Andy Griffith show is one of my (personal) all-time favortie TV show....dont' hate....

...and don't ask me why. LOL

I feel you on that, Rchecka. Generation X'ers are probably going to be the generation to carry on "handwritting" torch. it'll be a shame for it to be a lost art. Hmmm

peace.

The evolutionary process of this is scary when you actually think about it.Human Beings were made to communicate verbally and physically. There is an inner wired need to do this that has been around since cavemen. These shootings that have happen recently,IMO are a direct result of our moving further away from human to human communication taught at a very young age.We learned to communicate with the opposite sex when we were very young. It's a lost art to most of these new cats.We learned to be men when we stayed in competition with our best friends in sports,Hip Hop and anything.

It is always good to teach the youngins the basics.Because what if we wake up one day and all the sattelites done went outta wack or all the electricity went away because of a sun flare or some crazy s**t.Alot of people would be up s**t's creek. But not I,all I need is a pr-77 and a heat tab.Uptown knows what I mean.smiling smiley

Peace

Yes,Uptown dug that show alot along with Falling Skies from last year.
But I would not be one bit surprised if something like that happened.
The climate is out of wack and the entire world is down with electronic gadgets!

Scary.
