oh yeah...since I just got back from a USMC b-day cake cutting cermony....

one of the gentlemen that I met, is an 88 y/o Marine who fought in Iwo Jima and Saipan...nice guy - still rides a bike (Honda Gold Wing)

My dad would have been 88 this year also.
He fought on Okinawa in 45.
He served with the 52nd Defense Battalion.
It was a segregated unit.

His stories inspired me to join in 1981,
I stayed until 85.
I was with 3/2 2ndMarDiv.
