the number of extremely knowledgable cats that signed on and added to the chipher was surprising high and ultimately, is what built that spot....what kept it going were the characters that emerged....which ironically, is what did them in.
if vinyl collectors are your core target audience, then you need heads that live and breathe that life to speak on it....it's nice to have cats up in here that know music....but that's wholly different from the art of crate digging. It's a question of focus....those other sites had 1 main thrust as a foundation, the rest of the content was built around that.

these are two quotes I wanted everyone to zero in on if they can, because Brother Eyes, sums everything up with these two quotes. That just about covers any and everything involving whatwe been talking about.

I think we all can be a little intimidating to lurkers. If its a high school or early 20's cat checking us out, chances are they can't relate to the styles of music we do. While I think it's important to educate about the past, it's equally important to learn about the present. Some of us (if not most) automatically dismiss music from the radio, because we grew up with "The Golden Era", or "True School". To us, most commercial music is complete and utter garbage, it always has been. But why?

I always got hype when listening to Gangstarr and Wu-Tang. I was obsessed with the Wu in high school.

Same with Drake. I actually like a lot of 2 Chainz. Does that make me a buster? Am I not a "True Head" cause I like Young Jeezy, or listen to B.M.F. by Rick Ross? Am I a sell out? I hope not, but really I don't care.

I think in order to get more people, we have to relate to more people. We need to come out of our shells, so others do the same. I would like to start some threads about more commercial pop Rap if it's o.k. I haven't yet, because I was/am worried that some respect might be lost, or that none of you could relate or care to learn (if you don't already know).
