Quotedeathhop I believe they scan the first 30ish seconds to see if they recognise it as a released track (rather than something created by the user). If recognised it gets blocked, and I've had some stuff blocked that certainly isnt mainsteam (so they're on the ball). The way round it is to create an intro thats spoken word (or whatever), but regardless of that Soundcloud only has aby rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

QuoteGordon Rekcikssa Damn man! I just checked out Serious Japan that's on there. Excellent stuff! I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for that one! Awesome, there's some heat on it for sure, I think you'll dig it.by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Quotedeathhop soundcloud has blocked most things I've tried to upload. I'm curious about that, what's the message and based on what?by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteGordon Rekcikssa ...It allows a fantastic body of work to be heard by people that otherwise never would have done so. And a good number of those people go on to search out his other songs, and some of them even pay for them after that. How is it a bad thing that an artist is making at least some royalties where there otherwise would have been none? So I admire DJs that do creative things wby rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

^Check out that article on Razormaid in my link above LM, I think you'll like that. I only heard of Telex myself which BTW, I will be checking for more of them. As for the kids stuff, I found these in the kids records section. Finding kids records that old and in that good of shape is what's amazing about those records. Kids records in my experience are the most beat up records evby rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteLionsMouth My hopes are not too high. I wonder how much Phife is actually on it? Too many guests, even if they are decent artists, can spoil an album or is usually a red flag that a lackluster release needs extra hype to sell. We'll see. Well put. I think you are spot on. I think it's best not to have high hopes on this then you won't be disappointed if you are right and wby rchecka - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
New cover art, someone woke up to that, thank GOD!by rchecka - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Upon first impression I gotta give a big old thumbs down to the cover design team. Here's a nice little write up by the New York Times. QuoteNYT It features all four of the group’s members plus a host of guests — André 3000, Kendrick Lamar, Elton John, Jack White and Busta Rhymes... ^So Elton John and Jack White are going to be on this. I just dropped this little breakdown on Imgur. Clearly I gotta share this here as well! 1. Randy Rayder In Outer Space This is a kids space adventure read along comic book record released in the peak of the space age in 1969. It's an quirky, overly innocent written comic story about a boy who finds himself on an alien world and without real blasters they have this space rayby rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Last night... Various – Razormaid Chapter Eight: Special Delivery 2LP (Razormaid Records) 1985 ^A very cool 80s record landed last night. I'd file this under synth pop more than anything but there's elements of Jap-pop, post punk and new wave in this 2LP mix friendly set. To say this is very cool isn't doing it justice. This is easily one of the coolest if not the cooby rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Bumping this old thread because I saw her last night and man she is hot stuff! Man is that some deep shit she's on. She did a "musical" type live show with the her aptly named Professional Band. Her show was called 'Emily's D+Evolution' which was like a hard rock jazz hybrid sound. At some points she sounded like Faith No More, other times she sounded like Cby rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Speaking of Barry Adamson... RN... Barry Adamson - Know Where To Run LP (Central Control Records) 2016 ^WOW. OK, remember, I'm a huge fan of Barry A, but like all great artists he's had a few mediocre releases over the years and I bought this with high hopes only. You already may know this but Adamson was a bassist for the band Magazine as well as Nick Cave and the Badby rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Quotebloodymonkconsortium ...And yeah that was the late homie PH on the "Blood Letter" track. We grew up listening to Brooklyn Academy and after PH heard Blood Letter and told us he had to get on his Brooklyn Ac shit. It was an honor to bless a track with him and may he rhyme in peace. ^That's fantastic. Hella honor.by rchecka - Crate Digging: Hip Hop

Quotedeathhop Always enjoyed a bit of Barry Adamson. Quality. ^ No doubt. Little known fact he played bass for the group Magazine and did some soundtrack work for David Lynch.by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteJay Brown I have enjoyed this album since I first heard it in the 5th grade on Shane Scott's Walkman Haha, I love memories like that. That's the kind of record that gives you those kind of memories. ... Right Now... Probably one of the best Austin City Limits I've ever seen. You can watch and listen to the whole thing and Beck is absolutely at the top of his game here in 2002. This is what got me curious about Flaming Lips, his backing band for this concert. ^I miss that Beck.by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Thanks to Jay Brown we got these nice solid wood 45 adapters made. Made from hickory and cherry, made for no other reason than to spread the word about the forum. I'll mail one adapter to anyone in the US for free who is a regular contributing member upon request, just PM me. If you are outside of the CONTUS I'll ship you one upon request for the cost of the shipping price only.by rchecka - General Discussion
^I liked all that. Just played all those vids. Although it looks like someone pulled the plug on the last one at Youtube. You definitely have been on a roll lately. Hooked me up with that Jazz Hop joint and it sounds exactly as you described. Nice and laid back. I discovered a fairly cost effective upgrade that surprisingly gives you a noticeable improvement bang for your buck. I figured it’s something we never talk about in here as an “upgrade” and normally there’s not too much exciting to say about them, they are just RCA cables, but good ones are undeniably better than cheapos so I figured I’d bring it up since these really do make a fairly big imby rchecka - Turntable Help and Technical Questions
Last night... Bloody Monk Consortium - Burden of Truth EP & Bloodshed Cassettes (Johnny 23 Records) 2011-2012 ^Got a couple of these hard underground hip hop joints I've apparently been sleeping on from the artist direct from their bandcamp page.
