Quotejaybrown If for some reason anybody looking at this has never heard this album , I highly recommend it ... I'll admit, I had never heard this until just now. I dig this in a big way! Thanks for the heads up. Stuff like this is the reason I come here and check in as often as I do. QuoteLionsMouth Forgot how great this album is. The Cars - MoFi Ultradisc Reissues Two recent reissues by the famed audiophile label Mobile Fidelity. Both are from the Ultradisc II 24K gold series, remastered from the original source tapes using MoFi's exclusive Gain 2 System. Let's face it, MoFi is famous for one reason, and that's producing true audiophile quality reissues of classic albums. These two titles froby Gordon Rekcikssa - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuotercheckaI vividly remember the soundtrack as I’ve enjoyed playing the CD for years. ^This sounds like a great one to pick up. I'm a big fan a Lynch's films, and this one ranks among his best, IMHO. I have this one on CD too, and I love to put it on in my car and crank it up on my drive home on the nights when I'm in the office until about 3:00 AM. Makes a nice soundtrack forby Gordon Rekcikssa - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteLionsMouth Nice that Azar is on there. I'm a big fan of his second album. Azar was one of my main inspirations when I first started playing sax back around '79. That cat has an amazing sense of tone and knows exactly what notes to play and, more importantly, what notes not to play.by Gordon Rekcikssa - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I love to find good metal and noise 7 inches. Here are a few I've been listening to lately PanzerBastard - Motörheathen "Dedicated to our lord and saviour Lemmy Kilmister" That about sums up what's going on here. This is a four track EP of down and dirty metal. Stubb - Under A Spell Stoner rock from the UK. I dig that dirty guitar sound mixed with theby Gordon Rekcikssa - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
McCoy Tyner - Enlightenment Pulled this one out a few days ago after not listening to it for several years, and I had forgotten what an amazing performance this was. Tyner's piano is great as usual, but the rest of the quartet is just as good here. This just might be the best I've ever hear Alphonse Mouzon play on drums. Add in Azar Lawrence on fire with the sax and some tight baby Gordon Rekcikssa - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Awwww, now you got me hooked on chasing down these Razormaid records. I've ordered a couple so far. I'll check back in with you when they get here.by Gordon Rekcikssa - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Norbert Möslang - indoor_outdoor One of the founders of Voice Crack, the Swiss experimental/electronic noise pioneers. This is Möslang's 2012 album and it's just spectacular. There's one track per side on the LP, each equally challenging. This is definitely one of those records that you'll get out of it what you're willing to put into it in terms of time and attentby Gordon Rekcikssa - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
That's some good old fashioned kick-in-the-head thrash! For a three piece band they make a big sound. I'll definitely be on the lookout for that.by Gordon Rekcikssa - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Damn man! I just checked out Serious Japan that's on there. Excellent stuff! I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for that one!by Gordon Rekcikssa - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Pretty Voices - Jangular These guys are a band from St. Pete that I saw open for Soul Asylum last week, and I was just blown away by them. I have to say, the live show was better than they sound on the album, but that's generally my experience with any rock band, no matter how big or small they are. I enjoyed these dudes so much that I actually paid to download the album from Amazon.by Gordon Rekcikssa - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Like LionsMouth, I never really used the site, but I do think it's kind of a shame that so many small DJ sites go through this. I sort of understand that it's a legal grey area since the company I work for is in part connected to the music industry, even though my particular job isn't. So my opinion on this type of thing is this: As long as DJs aren't profiting off a particby Gordon Rekcikssa - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteLionsMouth Definitely on the avant-garde side as far as Blue Note releases go. You're right on the money, there. The first time I heard this, I had to double check to make sure it wasn't actually an ESP-Disk release.by Gordon Rekcikssa - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Quotejaybrown Last night I bumped an album from this year , but with a back in the day sound . I need to find this. Never heard before right now, and I love it!by Gordon Rekcikssa - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Lumen Drones - s/t So I've been listening to this pretty consistently since it came out a couple of years ago. I only have it as FLAC, the only physical release was on CD. That's a shame, too. ECM gets shit on a lot these days, but to my ears they still consistently put out some pretty interesting music. QuoteLionsMouth I'm guessing much of that music is only available on sketchy bootlegs unless you are able to shell out $$$ for first pressings. All of Les Rallizes Denudés albums are only available as bootlegs. They never had an official release of any kind that I know of. Their live shows were just legendary in Japan though, and the four or five boots I have are astounding in terms of soby Gordon Rekcikssa - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

QuoteLionsMouth QuoteGordon Rekcikssa Man, you just can't go wrong with Chopin. I always thought a lot of the Romantic composers would have made some awesome saloon music if they had been born into the Wild West instead of 19th century Europe. Great stuff. Brian Eno - The Ship - LP The newest album from Brian Eno has arrived, and it's a goddamned masterpiece. One of my favorite records of all time is After The Heat, which is one of Eno's collaborative efforts with Cluster, and the first time I listened to The Ship, it was that album that came to mind. It's not necessarily that the songs are similar because they aren'tby Gordon Rekcikssa - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

Wo Fat - Midnight Cometh LP Big, driving riffs are the order of the day here for the mighty Wo Fat, but this is so much better than most of what gets passed off as stoner rock today. There are lots of inventive sounds to be heard here in addition to the mountains of fuzzed-out guitar. These guys are masters of hooking the listener in with the heavy stuff, then abruptly switching tempos andby Gordon Rekcikssa - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Burundi: Music From The Heart Of Africa Field recordings made in Burundi during the 1960s. Performed mainly on traditional home made instruments, the songs here cover a variety of subjects. Some are traditional folk songs, some are in praise of the local Catholic clergy, and one is an improvised love song. Stuff like this fascinates me. Hi everyone. Rchecka invited me over from Instagram. I've read through a bunch of the threads and hope I can contribute something worthwhile here. I started collecting records in 1978. In 1990 I was a poor student in grad school, and I sold my stereo to pay for some expenses. I didn't sell any records, though, because by that point in time I thought they were all but worthless in terby Gordon Rekcikssa - General Discussion
