Quotejaybrown I recently picked up another album from the 1859 Records catalog ( also released on Moment Of Collapse records ). Dark Circles - MMXIV lp . I can’t listen to this album enough !! It is a hardcore album , but with a crust attitude . But at the same time has a dark feel almost like black metal . I’ve seen it called blackened crust and I can ride with that description .There areby whoisfrank - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
ISS - (Endless Pussyfooting) LP Hey everyone. It has been a long time since I've been on here. Life kept me pretty busy over the past month. Anyways, I came across an interesting release a few weeks ago on Bandcamp from Erste Theke Tontraeger, a German label that puts out some really interesting and unique punk. There's an extensive overview of the release on the link, but to summariby whoisfrank - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteLionsMouth Never heard of either band, need to check these out more fully. QuoteGordon Rekcikssa I'm not terribly familiar with Manchester Orchestra, but I do like what little I have heard from them. I should spend some time digging into their stuff. Camp Cope is awesome. I really dig the melancholy sound that's unique to Aussie alt-rock. If you like stuff from their newestby whoisfrank - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Manchester Orchestra - A Black Mile To The Surface I've been obsessing over these two albums recently. A Black Mile To The Surface came out yesterday and is the 5th album from indie rock band, Manchester Orchestra. MO has been one of my favorite bands since high school, and I can already tell that this new album is going to be my personal favorites of 2017. The main draw for MO is definiby whoisfrank - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Big Boys - No Matter How Long The Line Is At The Cafeteria I discovered these guys earlier this week. They were a pretty influential punk band in the early '80s Austin scene. They're similar to the Minutemen in that they meld other genres into punk, particularly funk. Big Crux - Ponchito LP Another recent find, Big Crux were a punk band from Seattle that were heavily influenceby whoisfrank - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
QuoteGordon Rekcikssa Quotewhoisfrank Merel - Merel 7" Shotmaker/Maximillian Colby - Split LP This is the first time I've heard either of these. Both are good stuff. I'm definitely going to track the 7" down. I really dig the sound on that. Nice! Luckily, the price for it hasn't shot up like other '90s hardcore releases. You can even get their discography onby whoisfrank - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I'd say Shotmaker is my favorite of the three. I recently grabbed their 2CD discography set off of discogs. For some reason that release goes for much more (about $30-40) than music from other '90s hardcore bands. I had actually never heard of Merel before I came across the 7". It was labelled as "Emo/Hardcore" in the store, and when I googled them, I read that they weby whoisfrank - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Hey everyone, I joined this forum yesterday, so I'm just popping in to introduce myself. I'm 25 years old, and I mainly listen to punk/hardcore and indie rock, although over the last few years I've been getting into some hip-hop, country, and bluegrass. My signature should have a link to my bandcamp collection if want a snapshot of what I've been listening to recently. Iby whoisfrank - General Discussion
Merel - Merel 7" Shotmaker/Maximillian Colby - Split LP I came across this 7" and split LP over the last couple of weeks at my local record store, both for reasonable prices. All three were early-to-mid '90s hardcore bands that get tagged as "emo" quite often. If you like the Max Colby side of the split and still find value in digital downloads, you can download theby whoisfrank - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
