BEP started pretty legit. That first or second album (?) was decent, not poppy and to some degree fit with other albums af the time. I guess you keep making albums tho and eventually end up selling out--or at least looking like you did. Either that or you tank. I wonder what woulda happened to the Fugees had they put out 5 more albums. Dont think they would have continued on at the same level...by djdiggla - Crate Digging: Hip Hop

I'd agree in crossover appeal (altho I think Fugees had a lot too) but the music and message were much more similar IMHO. I don't think they had a pop sound. I think it's pretty classic 90s sound (which I love). One thing tho, that I just thought of is Arrested Dev fits right into my "costume" theory... they all dressed crazy, had an old guy for no apparent reason...by djdiggla - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
This is what I'm listening to now. Saw them on Steve Colbert (which was random because I don't really like that show and just happened to be surfing by). Bought the whole album on iTunes.by djdiggla - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I know you're not dissin' Arrested Development like that you Mr. Wendal ass ma-fukka! PS. Arrested Development was waaaaay more like Fugees than BEP.by djdiggla - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Maybe we just like they Fugees because they were big in our teen years and really they are just the original bad of a multi-cultural-gender-pop-rap-R&B group and only a forerunner to BEP. That's what I've been thinking about recently. Do I like them because they were good or because it was a formative time in my life. Are they really that different than BEP. Think about it. I wanted to go see the Immortals over the weekend but wifey nixed it. Her loss. I'll go on my own and get mad drunk at the theater (you can drunk at certain theaters here--dunno if it's the same everwhere). That'll show her.by djdiggla - General Discussion

Who has one? I've had a few. Only have a 2000 xl now and I actually just shelved it recently to go in a few different directions... Sad, really. I headed uP a local mpc club that was pretty sick but Ableton, for as much as I love it, really put the final nail in the mpc coffin.by djdiggla - Crate Digging: Hip Hop

I was a little disappointed by the graphics but my fiend who got it on 360 was not. There wasn't supposed to be a difference this time (I got Black Ops on 360 last time and was very happy I did). The gameplay is fun. You die much faster than Black Ops. No stupid money perks.by djdiggla - General Discussion
Quoteuptownkid Bo-YAH!! That's what one of the Operation Finally Home disabled vets was shooting. (It was a charity sporting clays shoot that I won it at). Pretty sick. Altho, if I ever buy another I'll probably get a fancy side-by-side or an automatic. Those pistol grip pumps are great for home defense tho.by djdiggla - General Discussion
