I can feel you on that man, after 60 degree weather... Last night we got a mere 5" but just to the south they got a foot. Good thing is it won't be around for long. Uptown is that you popping a wheelie? That's dangerous man, what would your mother say?by rchecka - General Discussion
QuoteGMM After your big words checka, I listened to about 1/3 of the album and it sounded pretty good. The word Epic didn't come to mind, but I might just pick it up... You should pick it up GMM, you won't be sorry. This is what I mean by "Epic". Everything is epic about this 4LP album. (the album in general, regardless of format.) Word^. That BDP remix is certified no doubt. That Shy D track is my favorite one off that album too.by rchecka - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Last night, for man-day night I bumped some 88... MC Shy D - Comin' Correct in 88 (Dopeness) and... Steady B - Serious 12" (Why is it so hard to believe that this is in fact a remix?)by rchecka - Crate Digging: Hip Hop

Don't sleep on "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy", it's Epic. Literally, a home run for Kanye... the packaging, the samples, the musical content and flow and guest artists all make this one a must have Hip Hop album of 2010. Kanye is one of those "everything I do is over the top extreme" emotional artists who is bound to drop something incredible from time toby rchecka - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Dope, can't wait for this one to be dropped off in my mailbox!by rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I hope vinyl keeps on making a comeback, the music industry really needs a comeback in general. Not enough music makes it to any kind of physical media compared to yesteryear. Record Store Day helps, they pressed up a lot of limited fat nice vinyl just for aficionados, and that helps a little bit too.by rchecka - General Discussion

I hear you P. But regardless of liking them or being annoyed by them the question remains, do you think it's uniquely Hip Hop enough to be a solid contender for the next version? Personally I think Hip Hop is the only genre to do skits at all, so I think it's a valid contender.by rchecka - OP: Periodic Table of Hip Hop Elements

Great idea Capitol1212. I'm in a hole, culturally speaking I usually have to travel to the Twin Cities to see any decent shows. But there are some pockets of good music around here, decent blues acts like Howard Guitar Luedtke and Blue Max. One great musician from my town already well established is Bon Iver. http://www.boniver.org/ There ain't jack for Hip Hop here though, agaby rchecka - General Discussion
^Nice one. Last night I bumped... Easy Star All Stars - Dubber Side of the Moon... Dub versions of Reggae versions of Pink Floyd's seminal album Dark Side of the Moon. Not quite as good as Dub Side of the Moon by them but still loaded with fat bass and spacy echos, well worth the loot. Some serious sub music on this. speaking of Pink Floyd... The Orb and David Gilmourby rchecka - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

You know what really gets me mad in the morning? Stupid ass commercials played in between stupid ass news. This commercial for example. Charmin went from a nice old guy who told you not to squeeze the Charmin in the 80s to a bunch of cartoon bears with toilet paper dingle berry problems. That's what we all need to see in the morning, a cartoon bear's bear ass with toilby rchecka - General Discussion
