^^ that's a good thing RC.I stayed in the game for a long time, round bout 1979 to about 2006. I had to part with alot of stuff due to life's curve balls, when you get em' you gotta hit em just to stay on base, feel me. I collected more breakbeat records than others.I've noticed that most diggers flow with Northern soul records and obscure LP's and 45's from diffeby BM31 - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
haha - I hear ya RC.. As I delve back into the thread here, I forgot to mention that in all my travels I had never been to Europe.I was hoping one of the fam here would pick out a country or two that they have been to over there and kind of lay down the reals of what's going on. My wife follows alot of the Barclay's Premier League,so I wanted to know what it feels like in person toby BM31 - General Discussion

Hey,Beat I'm diggin this alot! I like the blends from record to record, I like the timing and how he used the highs and lows of each song. This one made me think alot, I ran across some of these in my diggin days. Man, some of this stuff was on labels like Bumpshop,True Soul,Popside, etc. Real obscure stuff, man. There is still a couple on here that I couldn't remember or have not hby BM31 - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop

QuoteTruseone Basketball will always be basketball. The rivalries between teams like the Pistons and Bulls made it more entertaining. I hear ya, it's like Hip Hop will always be Hip Hop but the battles made it more entertaining. QuoteHipHopchiq1 Ok...so are Beef and battling synonymous? Or is battling under the general umbrella of Beef? That's interesting, because now youby BM31 - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
QuoteTruseone Here's my take on this fam. Yes the beef has always been a part of the culture, but I see it more as a by-product, as opposed to anything definitive, to which the culture's existence rests on. Ok, I think I feel you on this, do you feel it's just more of semantics..case in point say the purpose of some (sneakers/kicks) is to protect your feet while your walking,by BM31 - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Yeah, I remember that movie...but for some strange reason I thought you were talking about Colin Hay and the band members of Men at Work playing in a movie.by BM31 - General Discussion
Haha - Everybody had that poster ...."damn you Lee Majors!" I copped one of those games from Odd Lot back in the day and play it until every battery ran out.Loved that game. They also had a version of that game called Head to head where you would play against somebody and it had a bugged out commercial for it.by BM31 - General Discussion
haha that's going way back Uptown, I might have to break out the UHF and watch some of those crazy Buster Keaton movies they used to play on Channel 68 in the city!by BM31 - General Discussion
Your probably right Uptown, me and RC are probably remembering one of the movie style videos that they used to sport on MTV and VH1 in the day. We should check it out. Peace .by BM31 - General Discussion
^^ yes, you got it Uptown remember the dark and unglamorous deuce in the cold, with a few hustlers out there, the homeless dudes,a few working girls, the seedy ol' school 42nd! hahaby BM31 - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I think there might have been, but can't remember at the moment RC. Yes, his name was Greg Ham.He rocked the sax for them and he also played that iconic flute in Down Under. he got sued in 09, and took it hard apparently he bit the riff off of a old australian children's song. Overkill was probably my favorite song from them.by BM31 - General Discussion
My goodness L.E.S. Lady! Good to hear from ya Sis, I hope as we enter these holiday seasons life finds you and your family well and blessed. Peace as always to you! * My brother sported some marshmellows in his wannabe Heatwave days.hahaby BM31 - General Discussion
I'd call mine Heavy Reigns At an angle you would see the back of me with a long coat with the collar up walking down Times Square in the rain. The album color would be in black and white except for the old english crown lying in the gutter. It would be a jazz album. Probably along the lines of Pat Metheny or Lyle Mays. Peace.by BM31 - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
I sent it in your PM, Uptown. I'll drop some more in the TLounge as soon as I get the chance. Peace to ya!by BM31 - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
^^ No problem at all my brother, I love passing along the flavor. I sent it to the sendspace dropbox in the Teacher's lounge. Can you or RC tell me if it went thorough. It said that it was completed. When you get it,holla..and I'll send some similar joints from him and others to you the same way. Peace fam!by BM31 - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Ok,Vamo I see your well versed,so let me get off the beaten path here and bring a few of these artist to your attention. Sergio Cassiano,is one of my favorites. He's brasileiro but the name of the album is Cuban Soul 18 Kilates. Oh, and the repressings come mostly out of Rio and S.Paulo where the prices are jacked. Up north they carry alot of the originals for cheap becby BM31 - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
That sounds good to me! Hey Uptown thx for reppin' my man Just-Ice. As you know I grew up with them cats in Castle Hill.... If you get a chance google soundview stand up the almighty soundmasters. and it will bring you to a website we was using alot back in about 2010. Ahhh man, your truly in it now. Arthur vibin'.I had this album in my diggin days. I liked the cut Na Boca do Sol (in the mouth of the sun). It had a Crusaders vibe to it. Also the song Presente Grego(greek gift) was straight up in Johnny Pate style. You can't miss with these. The next time you go on a dig, write down these names... Jorge Ben,Tim Maia,Milton Nascimento checkby BM31 - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
HAHa - Word. That's ol' school right there. You guys are still the diggers! Respect, respect......next subjectby BM31 - Crate Digging: Non Hip Hop
Yeah RC, it was definitely not a good look,my brother. Her eyes kind of remind me of Naomi Campbell. So you can sport a cut and wear it right and bring out the naturally attractive face. But you can't get away with a 1970s Blaxploitation look in the 2000s. It just ain't cuttin it. Also, thx for the check on the teacher's lounge. And I don't know,I'm no psychologisby BM31 - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
