Hmmm, fair question fellas. I'd be more than happy to oblige but I can't think of much I've been feeling recently (i.e. the last few months). Would you be interested in general recommendations or new stuff?by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Hmmmm..... Crack - Run DMC Things Get A Little Easier - Biz Markie Get Up Get Out - OutKast + Goodie Mob Slow Down - Brand Nubian My Brother's A Basehead - De La Soul Say No Go - De La Soul ........there were definitely some PE songs. Night Of The Living Baseheads, for one.....by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Hahahahaha Nah, I'm the guy in the green hat dancing behind him / standing about in the record store / dancing with a Phil Collins 12" in front of his face at the end. Glad you're feeling it.... it's getting some hate for some reason. I love it, although I'm admittedly biased. What do you think to the video?by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Heya folks.... here's some new Hip Hop for ya, my mate Booda French (aka Truth) with J57 from the Brown Bag Allstars. Let me know what you think - he's getting some ridiculous hate in some of the comments, which I don't really understand. You might think some of his diction is a bit unclear (that seems to be a common criticism for this track) but otherwise, what's to hate?by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Yeah, go on then.... I have been known to make beats. Only problem is that all my samples (bass, drums etc) have gone after my old HD died. So I'll be starting from scratch. But no worries.by Jimmy Green - Member Submissions
Found it. This is seriously dope. Almost like a mashup of rap hits of the day.by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Yeah man, I'd say that was rap. Not GOOD rap, but rap. The beat is sick though. I'm going to try and track down the instrumental.by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
^ That's the way thing are nowadays, for better or worse.by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Glad you liked it mate! And the rest!by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
haha, yeah, I know what you mean. Same as Action Bronson. haha.by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Soul Khan - "Soul Like Khan" on repeat.by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Soul Khan and Koncept played in our town last night.... SMACKED IT. Anyone else feeling him / Brown Bag Allstars? Soul Like Khan Alec Baldwin Battle - Soul Khan vs QPby Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
No worries man... I wasn't after a physical disc or anything. Good list!by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Sick. Any chance of putting them all into a zip / rar file and posting it up?by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
MadSkillz first album was amazing beatwise... Beatnuts, Q-Tip, Dilla...... But he's a much better hype man for Jazzy Jeff than he is a solo artist nowadays, IMO.by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Yeah, the Extra P remix is TIGHT. Only thing is it reminds me a bit too much of the MadSkillz joint "Skillz In 95". Saying that, Skillz reused a Pharoahe line about "Extra P shitting on the SP", so that might have something to do with it. I used to rate MadSkillz pretty highly but actually I don't think he's all that... certainly his recent output has been disappointby Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Here you go folks. Not really mixed as much as one track follows the next a bit abruptly and probably in time. Here's my best of 2011 - let me know what you think. Best Of 2011by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Dude! Just pick them up on CD. Then get them on vinyl when you see them. I've got the first album on some limited double vinyl stuff with extra tracks.... actually, come to think of it, I've got the promo for the second album as well. They are GOLD. Also got the Stress 12".... classic Large Pro remix. (Don't believe the pic on the youtube vid, it isn't on the alby Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
This is hilarious. Long-running British magazine Viz tackles the thorny issue of waiting in for a f***ing parcel in the form of a board game. WARNING: NSFW language. Sample: 1. You see the delivery van pull up outside your house. However, before you can get to the door, the driver sprints up your path, stuffs a 'Sorry You Were Out' card through your letterbox, sprints bacby Jimmy Green - General Discussion
Cool man, I've got the demos somewhere on a hard drive. Great stuff.by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
So, which one do you think is the best? You HAVE to choose one, and one only. This one may show who heard which album first.... often that's people's reasons for liking one album over another. Just to remind you: Organized Konfusion (the first album) Walk Into The Sun Releasing Hypnotical Gases (the part where the beat switches up in this track is absolutely iby Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Today, inbetween ferrying children about and picking up a new phone / laptop power lead / dropping off radio station keys, I have been listening to the first two Organized Konfusion albums.by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Here's another impressive one.... all vinyl, Checka!by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
and THIS still sets a standard that I don't think has been / can be matched. When he starts the backwards drumming at about 1.50, it's over.by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
This was one of the first battle routines I saw, and I think it's still one of the best I've ever seen. Shame his 89 world routine wasn't quite as tight.by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
^ I can feel what you're saying man.... I think Shadow feels a bit out of his depth with them as well, as when I saw him he didn't play anything new, even though it was just as The Outsider was coming out. Everything he played was from 92 onwards up to Private Press. He was great still.by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Yeah man, I feel you on the Shadow thing, I've got nearly everything he did from the early days on vinyl, and somewhere I've got everything he did on MP3. Saw him live a couple of years back, proper performance instead of a DJ set, he was great. I'm a proper Stan-type fan. I got my Midnight In A Perfect World 12" signed by Gift Of Gab wen I supported him a couple of years backby Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
Today, I was listening to DJ Shadow - The Private Press. Great album.by Jimmy Green - Crate Digging: Hip Hop
