Well put. I think you are spot on. I think it's best not to have high hopes on this then you won't be disappointed if you are right and will be pleased if you are wrong.

Regarding Jack White, I think Jack is extremely talented and knows what he's doing for the most part with all his projects. I'm not a fan either but I'm not exactly worried about him breaking anything. It's just one of those "really? why?" things for me. He tends to overdo everything he touches so I'm sure if anything it'll just be overly elaborate. Which BTW, that tends to suck with Hip Hop as it did with De La's last album.

Regarding Elton John. Another undeniably talented musician, an incredible performer and pianist. That said, I hate his crappy sap rock. I cannot subscribe to anything he does, it's just corny. If he plays the piano and doesn't bother singing there's potential for his contribution to not suck.

I don't blame Q-Tip for wanting to make this happen, it's his last chance to drop a new Tribe album utilizing the original line up. Phife recorded this stuff right before he passed so this is really a new Tribe album. Apparently Q-tip never saw his death coming. It's a great way to follow through with what was started. I expect this will be worse than their worst album "Love Movement" and if I'm wrong I'll be a happy man.

^^ trying to stay optimistic . Agreed about Elton John , but not about Love Movement . Beats Rhymes & Life was my least favorite ... But never really completely disliked any of their albums .

Did anyone catch the SNL live performance? We watched the rerun of it and I'm not sure what to make of the songs they did. Seems like they are going in a slightly experimental direction. So far it looks like the album is Itunes only.

I missed it , but had a friend dvr it for me . I need to get over there and watch it . I listened to some clips f I'm the album . A few sound like classic Tribe and some sounded much different . Still willing to check the album out . Vinyl should definitely drop next month .
