Okay, so I'm in my lady's car on the way to get some food , and we are listening to Childish Gambino . She has been really feelin him lately. Me, not so much. He's got good wordplay, but I think he lacks substance. Maybe if I was 15 I would be more into it. What is everybody else's thoughts on this kid ? Am I dismissing him too early ? Should I sit down and give him a good listen ?

I'm kinda feeling him, kinda not. Haven't listened to much, but I might. I just watched a couple youtube vids that I liked, so I'll probably give him a listen more tomorrow

Ehhh.
I just watched Freaks and Geeks. Granted. that's the only thing I know from him, but if that video represents his thing I'm not impressed. The production outshined his "my huge dick" type lyrics.

He does his own production , and some of that on the album my lady has is impressive. She keeps telling me you need to give it a chance , but I'm really having trouble doing so. For a minute , I thought maybe I am just being stubborn ( like I didn't want her to tell me what good hip hop was ) but I really don't think I can feel this one. Maybe if he releases an instrumental joint.
