My I have so many memories of the time when hip hop was beginning. but I will share the taping of wild style. it was taped on the Lower East Side and if you check my name that's what the LES stands for. anyway it was a word of mouth thing. we heard that a lot of the groups were going to be perfoming there. We wondered why it was going to be at the ampetheater (it was not a place anyone from the lowa would be caught going to) anyway we heard the names that were supposed to perform and thought yeah right they are going to perform for free. although these artist coming to the lower east side was often they never gave a free show. anyway the line up was a whose who If hip hop. but I was sold when they said the fantastic and flash would be there. I went they taped the show and if it werent for me being there I would not have seen that awsome performance by the furious five. all these years later my niece and nephew asked me about hip hop and that movie wild style. I put in my copy and too my surprise there I was in a few places. that was weird.

I can also tell you that the black kid that played a graffiti artist in the film wasn't one at all. His name is Fred and he was a local DJ on the lowa. in fact he was the one telling us all to go to the drive. I guess looking back on it now he had inside information being in the film and all.

I'll return with some more stories. some are crazy. If I figure out how to upload I will share my flyer collection

If they did it like they used to,
I'd still prefer the Old School.

No doubt, great story LES. I'd also be interested in seeing a 1983 version of LES Lady.
