Ok I dont remember the year or the day. (I smoked a lot back then) but I do remember the funky 4 were coming to play at Alfred E. Smith houses for the first time. Now I was a Sha Rock and Rahiem fanatic so I wasn't going to miss this for anything in the world. I spent around an hour ironing and starching the lee jeans and then I had to iron the Precious Cee wil rock you sweat shirt. it was light blue with black ole english letters. the outfit was complete with the blue puma clydes. I met my girls we hit the weed spot and the bodega for the champale. before going in we said lets get this party started. so we sat outside the venue smoking and drinking. everyone had a bag and we were all rolling and lighting up. Puff puff pass lasted a long time so by the time we went inside I was f**cked up. the champale didn't help either. anyway we get in and it's almost time for the funky to start. I was so looking forward to this. anyway they started their set and my girls and I were dancing. they did the rhymes they were known for. the crazy eddie, etc. then it happened they called out sha rock to do her thing. the next thing I know she is on and so was the echo chamber and a strob light that seemed to be attatched to the echo chamber. needless to say this messed my head up. everyone looked like they were moving in slow motion. when I tell you the weed and champale were talking to me and not in a good way either. I got throug the night and had a blast but i had to leave during that whole echo chamber/strob light fiasco. All these years later I told Sha that story and she thought it was so funny. I tell you the next time I saw them I made sure I wasn't so fired up. LOL

@Les lady has the coolest stories...I was always too young...I distinctly remember when I was a freshman in high school I befriended one of the cooler dudes and he would show me scrapbooks of pics of him and his friends at the Rooftop,The Fever, even Paradise Garage and I remember wishing my parents weren't so strict ,or that I wasn't so young,or that I wasn't so square. Seeing all of those pics reinforced my belief that hip hop was something I was supposed to be a part of.
